Week 8 in the CFL is a short one, with all four teams from the West on a bye. That means there are only two games on the schedule, with Hamilton taking on Winnipeg on Thursday, and Montreal visiting Toronto on Friday.

The Tiger-Cats upset the Argos last week in a 45-21 romp as a 4-point underdog. Richie Williams successfully led the Hamilton offense while completing 15-of-24 pass attempts for 293 yards with three touchdowns.

Running back Terry Caulley also had a big game, rushing for 127 yards on 14 carries with a TD run and a TD reception. Williams is expected to start again this week with Casey Printers still nursing an injured thumb, while running back Jesse Lumsden remains doubtful with a knee injury.

The Blue Bombers' horrible season continued last week as they dropped to 1-6 after a 39-11 loss to Montreal as a 2-point underdog. Ryan Dinwiddie completed 16-of-26 pass attempts for 193 yards with an interception before being replaced by Kevin Glenn.

Glenn went on to pass for 80 yards with a touchdown, and he will take over the starting duties this week. One bright spot for Winnipeg in last week's loss was Derick Armstrong, who caught 11 passes for 133 yards with a TD.

In four matchups against the Tiger-Cats last season Winnipeg was 3-1 straight-up and 2-2 against-the-spread. In Thursday night's game the Blue Bombers are a 3.5-point favorite on 's CFL odds list.

Montreal's offense continued to roll in their win over Winnipeg last week. Anthony Calvillo completed 25-of-35 pass attempts for 290 yards with a touchdown. Running back Avon Cobourne rushed for 137 yards on 21 carries with a TD run.

While Montreal was firing on all cylinders last week, the Argonauts stumbled in their loss to Hamilton. Kerry Joseph completed 21-of-40 pass attempts for 292 yards, with no touchdowns and two interceptions. Dominique Dorsey and Jamal Robertson each ran in for a touchdown in the loss.

The Argos and the Alouettes split the season series last year with two wins apiece. In Friday's game the Als are a 3-point road favorite at .
