Two important series conclude in the majors on Thursday, while two other big series are just getting started heading into the weekend.

The final contests of the four-game divisional series between the White Sox and Twins and Cubs and Brewers are on tap for Thursday. For the ChiSox and Twins the pitching matchup will be Chicago's John Danks (8-4, 3.18) versus Minnesota's Scott Baker (7-3, 3.38).

Danks is undefeated since May 24 after pitching the White Sox past Detroit in his last start, while Baker picked up another win versus Cleveland last time out. On Friday the White Sox head to Kansas City, while the Twins host the Tribe. Click here for the baseball batting trends and more handicapping data to help you beat the moneyline.

In Milwaukee on Thursday the Brewers will start Dave Bush (5-8, 4.51), while the Cubs send Rich Harden back to the mound. Bush is coming off a no-decision against the Astros, and Harden was once again denied a win in his last start despite holding the Marlins to one run on two hits with 10 more strikeouts. This weekend the Cubs head back to Wrigley to face Pittsburgh, while the Brewers visit Atlanta.

The Los Angeles Angels and their newest acquisition, slugger Mark Teixeira, head to the Bronx on Thursday for a four-game set with the New York Yankees. The Angels are running away with the AL West title, while the Yankees are battling for first place in the AL East and the Wild Card.

In Thursday's game the Angels send Jon Garland (9-6, 4.30) to the mound, while the Yankees start Andy Pettitte (12-7, 3.76). Both Garland and Pettitte earned wins in their last starts, as Garland beat the Orioles and Pettitte took care of the Red Sox. Looking ahead to Friday's pitching matchup Ervin Santana (11-5, 3.57) gets the call for the Angels, and Sidney Ponson (6-2, 4.59) is scheduled to start for New York.

Also getting started on Thursday is an important four-game series between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Arizona starts ace Brandon Webb (14-4, 3.14) on Thursday, while the Dodgers go with Derek Lowe (8-8, 3.74).

Webb recorded his NL-leading 14th win of the year against the Giants last time out, while Lowe pitched eight shutout innings against Washington in his last start. Friday's pitching matchup will see Randy Johnson (8-7, 4.58) try to extend his four-game winning streak for Arizona, while rookie Clayton Kershaw (1-3, 4.53) gets another start for Los Angeles.
