Final Four betting on No. 1 seeds

advertisement

The top teams in the NCAA Tournament have proven that the selection committee knew what they were doing a few weeks ago, as the No. 1 seed from every region is headed to the Final Four in San Antonio on the weekend.

The UCLA Bruins are headed to the Final Four for the third straight year, as they won the West Region. To get back to the National Championship game the Bruins have to take care of the No. 1 seed from the South Region, the Memphis Tigers.

UCLA didn’t have an easy ride through the West, and bettors might not be happy with their 2-2 ATS record. The Tigers posted a 2-2 ATS record as well.

In the other Final Four matchup the North Carolina Tar Heels (No. 1 in the East) will take on the Kansas Jayhawks (No. 1 in the Midwest). Bettors loved the Tar Heels, as they destroyed everyone in their path and posted a perfect 4-0 ATS mark.

Kansas was perfect until they narrowly squeezed past Davidson in the Elite 8 to come out at 3-1 ATS.

To tide bettors over while they are waiting for the Final Four to tip off the CBI Tournament’s championship series gets started on Monday. Unlike the other postseason college basketball tourneys, the CBI’s final is a best of three games. Battling for that title are the Bradley Braves and the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.

The Braves topped Virginia 96-85 as a 6-point favorite in the semifinals last week. Jeremy Crouch carried the Braves past the Cavaliers with 27 points in the win.

The Golden Hurricane got 22 points and eight rebounds from Ben Uzoh to knock off Houston 73-69 as a 3.5-point favorite. Jerome Jordan also had a strong game in the win with 18 points and 15 rebounds.

The Golden Hurricane opened as a 5.5-point favorite in Game 1 at BodogLife. Game 2 is scheduled for Wednesday, while Game 3 (if necessary) is set for Friday.
