Wings can clinch Cup future bets

advertisement

The final NHL game of the season could be played on Monday night. The Red Wings hope so at least - as they're only one victory away from winning the Stanley Cup.

With the series heading back to Detroit for Game 5 the Wings are a big -240 favorite at to end the season. The Red Wings defeated the Penguins 2-1 in Pittsburgh on Saturday night, which snapped the Pens' long home winning streak.

Nicklas Lidstrom and Jiri Hudler scored for Detroit, while Marian Hossa netted the Penguins' lone goal. Detroit shut down Pittsburgh's snipers again, as Sidney Crosby was held to an assist, and Evgeni Malkin went pointless for the fourth straight game.

When Games 1 and 2 were played in Detroit last week the Red Wings posted back-to-back shutouts, outscoring the Penguins 7-0. The lack of scoring in the series has been great for total bettors who have stuck with the UNDER.

The total for Game 4 was set at 5, and with only three goals on the night an UNDER bet paid off once again.

The over/under results for the series so far are 0-3-1, and with the total for Monday's game coming in at 5 again another UNDER could be in the cards if Chris Osgood and Marc-Andre Fleury continue to be strong in nets.
