Intriguing names in U.S. political world past 2024 election
Examining the picture of candidates from both parties

The stumbles of President Joe Biden in the debate and the polarizing persona of Donald Trump have magnified the United States’ political picture.
Names like Michelle Obama and Pete Buttigieg pop up on the Democratic side as potential candidates as the country moves ahead in 2028 and further. There is also Vice President Kamala Harris.

The Republican side is not as clear with former President Trump the dominant force in the party. If Trump would win in November, it would be his final term as President because he served once already before losing to Biden in 2024.
Names such as Nikki Haley and Ron Desantis failed to topple the 45th president in this year’s election race for the Republican nominee. Tim Scott and Vivik Ramaswamy also have time on their side.

United States’ political picture: Road to 2024 elections
The eventual choice to run with Trump as Vice President would have a leg up toward the 2028 nomination for the Republican party. A long shot name to consider for 2028 could be former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a third-party candidate but losing steam as the race heads toward November.
One factor that has become increasingly important is age. Biden is 81. Trump is 78. Americans are concerned any potential president’s cognitive abilities whittle with time. The adage is no one can beat Father Time. That is especially true for a President, who is under high stress 24/7 every day of every term.
