Serbian Star Proves Too Much for Spanish Legend on Clay
In tennis news, the 60th match in the intense rivalry between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal won’t go down as legendary. Djokovic dominates Nadal again. It wasn’t quite a mismatch in the second round of men’s tennis at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. The Serb simply is too sharp for Nadal and won, 6-1, 6-4.
On hand for the clash was a tennis great, Billie Jean King, and a hip-hop icon, Snoop Dogg. If they hoped to see a classic battle, they were disappointed as Nadal is no longer the player who won 14 French Opens among his 20 Grand Slam victories.

Djokovic, however, is still in prime form and is a major threat to add an Olympic gold medal to his showcase. Olympic gold would be the lone missing piece from the amazing career of the 37-year-old.

Djokovic dominates Nadal again: Rafael suggested before the match it might not be the last time he faces Djokovic or that he is ready to retire. Overall, he has lost 31 of their 60 matches. He has beaten his Serbian foe in eight of their 10 matches in the French Open, the annual clay-court major. He has beaten Djokovic 20 out of 30 matches on clay after Monday’s loss.

Djokovic is the only player to have beaten Nadal in all four majors. The Spaniard has lost five matches at Roland Garros and three of the defeats have come to Djokovic.
