WSOP Continues Operations
However, the departure of 888poker does not spell the end for online poker in New Jersey. The World Series of Poker (WSOP) will continue to operate in the Garden State. Thiw will provide players with a robust online poker experience. Moreover, the planned tri-state cooperative involving New Jersey, Michigan, and Nevada remains on track, promising synchronized player pools and enhanced gaming opportunities.
As part of a plan to streamline their business, they’re selling their U.S. gaming stuff to Hard Rock Digital (owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida). This lets 888 focus on areas they do best in other parts of the world. Plus, 888 just got the green light from their owners to completely rebrand as “evoke” – a whole new chapter! They even announced it on LinkedIn.
“Today, we officially start our next chapter as evoke plc. Evoke is a symbol of our new direction. A direction that builds on our strengths and allows us to move forward as one multi-brand group with a united strategy, vision, and identity. We’re excited to share more from evoke in the weeks and months ahead,” the operator’s official page said
So, while it’s goodbye to 888poker, it seems the future of online gambling and sports betting in New Jersey is looking pretty interesting! With new companies likely jumping in, we can expect fresh ideas, more competition, and maybe even some new features for betting online.
