Bet365 Launches in Arizona: Becomes 17th Sportsbook in Arizona
Bet365 Adds Indiana and Arizona in One Week

It’s been a busy stretch for Bet365. In less than a week, Bet365 launches in Arizona and Indiana, giving the sportsbook a presence in nine states. In Arizona, the sportsbook partnered with the Ak-Chin Indian Community.
The Ak-Chin Indian Community originally partnered with Fubo Sportsbook, which closed down in October 2022. Bet365 gave a $1 million charitable donation to the tribe to kick-off the partnership.
“We are excited to partner with Bet365, and appreciate its charitable contribution to the Community and vital services for Ak-Chin Members,” said Chairman Robert Miguel of the Ak-Chin Indian Community, in a press release. “With Bet365, we will be able to provide our customers a premier experience – no matter whether they visit our sportsbook in-person or online.”
Bet365 received its license from the Arizona Department of Gaming in August and had 180 days to start taking wagers. Arizona licenses allow online betting or physical sportsbooks.
While the number of Arizona sportsbooks is currently 17, WynnBet has announced plans to shut down its sportsbook as part of a downsizing move. That will open up another license for a new sportsbook to come into the state.
Online Betting is King in Arizona
The Arizona Department of Gaming’s reports showed November was a record-breaking month for the state in terms of money wagered. Bettors placed $713.6 million in wagers, which is 3.3% higher than the previous record of $690 million set in March 2022.
Of these wagers, $707.5 million was bet online, with $6.1 million bet at physical sportsbooks and $1.8 million wagered with limited event betting operators. Of the limited event operators, Turf Paradise horse racing track took in more than half the wagers.
The state of Arizona collected a little more than $2 million in “privilege fees,” in November, so you can see why the state wanted to make sure Bet365 launches in Arizona. Sportsbooks also pay the state an annual $150,000 licensing fee.
Good New For Sports Bettors
It’s never a bad thing for sports bettors when a new sportsbook opens. If bettors don’t like it, they don’t have to wager there. But in the crowded Arizona sportsbook scene there are plenty of bonuses and other inducements to place wagers.
Arizona law allows sportsbooks to write off big portions of their gross receipts for the first five years. That means money that will go to the state in the future is now going back to bettors in the forms of free bets and other promotions.
Now that Bet365 launches in Arizona, bettors in the state also have another betting outlet to consider. The No. 1 rule of sports betting strategy is to shop for the best line before making a bet. With a choice of 17 sportsbooks, Arizona bettors have plenty of opportunities to do exactly that.
