Colorado Rockies Stats & Team History
The Colorado Rockies were founded in 1993 as an expansion franchise in the MLB. In just its third season in the MLB, they made it to the playoffs through the Wild Card. The Rockies have never won a World Series, reaching it once on a miraculous run at the end of the season in 2007. They won 14 of their last 15 regular-season games, then an end-of-the-season tiebreaker to make it into the playoffs. They did not lose a game in the playoffs, sweeping in both rounds, until they got swept in the World Series by the Boston Red Sox. The Rockies’ team stats show they have never won their division, having made all five of their playoff appearances through the Wild Card.
Despite being a young franchise, the Colorado Rockies team stats have featured some good players in modern baseball. Due to the air density, with the city of Denver being high in elevation and the size of Coors Field, it has allowed for some great hitting seasons.
