Los Angeles Angels Stats & Team History
The Los Angeles Angels were established in 1961 as an expansion team. However, in 1965 they left the city of Los Angeles and moved to Anaheim, another city in California, and renamed the team the California Angels until 1996. In 1997, the team changed the name again to the Anaheim Angels. In 2005, when the Angels wanted to go by the Los Angeles Angels again, they had to keep Anaheim in the name until 2015, going as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim during that time.
The Los Angeles Angels team stats had their highest point between 2002 and 2009, making the playoffs six times and winning their only World Series in 2002. Outside of that time, the Angels team stats are average, never making a playoff appearance in back-to-back seasons outside of that time frame.
