San Diego Padres Stats & Team History
The San Diego Padres were established in 1969, playing their first season in the MLB in that same year. In the team’s first season, they only managed to win 52 games and did not have a winning record until 1978. The team won its first division title in 1984, which brought them to the World Series, in which they lost. The Padres team stats show that they have won two National League Pennants, the other in 1998, but have yet to win a World Series. The team has only made the playoffs a total of six times.
The San Diego Padres team stats feature one of the best players in MLB history in Tony Gwynn. Gwynn is one of the few players in MLB history to have over 3,000 hits, spending all 20-years of his career with the Padres.
