Toronto Blue Jays Stats & History
The Toronto Blue Jays were founded in 1977 and played in the American League East alongside historic teams like the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox. As most expansion teams do, they struggled early on and waited six seasons before finishing with a winning record then waited eight until they won their first division title when they made the playoffs. From 1985 to 1993, the Blue Jays team stats were at their peaks, with their team being one of the best. They made the playoffs five times and won back-to-back World Series in 1992 and 1993. After the second World Series, the team would immediately begin to struggle, unable to make the playoffs for the next 21 seasons until 2015.
Many of the Toronto Blue Jays team stats come from the era in which the team was winning. During that time, eventual Hall of Fame players such as Roberto Alomar and Joe Carter led the team.
