In 2005, MLS granted the San Jose Earthquakes permission to relocate to Houston ahead of the 2006 season. The move was confirmed in December 2015 and all personnel was set to relocate to Houston. The city of Houston was getting a strong team as San Jose won the Supporters’ Shield in 2005.

So, the Houston Dynamo first played in MLS in 2006 and Brian Ching scored four goals in the season opener. The Dynamo finished in second place in the Western Conference and advanced to the MLS Cup final in their first season. Houston went down 1-0 to New England but Ching equalized. Houston Dynamo FC Team Records

The next few seasons in the Houston Dynamo team stats were also good ones. They made the Western Conference final in 2009 and were MLS runners-up in both 2011 and 2012. However, the team declined after 2013.

Since 2013, the Dynamo have made the playoffs just once in eight seasons. Despite missing out on the playoffs in 2018, Houston managed to come away with silverware. They made it to their first U.S. Open Cup final and defeated Philadelphia Union 3-0. Mauro Manotas scored 25 goals in all competitions in 2008, including two in the final. He was voted the tournament’s MVP and won the Golden Boot, with six goals in four matches.

The Dynamo finished with the worst record in the Western Conference in both 2020 and 2021. So, most betting advice warns against taking their moneyline on a consistent basis in 2022. The Dynamo were, however, only a few points outside of the playoff picture midway through the 2022 season.

Houston opened the season as the team least likely to win the MLS Cup. However, their line moved to +6600 MLS odds midway through the season. Those odds were better than or equal to seven other teams’.
