Western Kentucky won the first-ever Bahamas Bowl with a win against Central Michigan 49-48. This result was regarded as one of the most devastating “Bad Beats” in the realm of college football’s past.
The Hilltoppers had a 42-14 lead going into halftime, which reached as high as 35 points until the Chippewas scored 34 straight to get to within one point of the Hilltoppers. Still, in this classic matchup between Western Kentucky and Central Michigan, the Hilltoppers prevailed 49–48.
On the game’s last play, Titus Davis scored a touchdown after several failed attempts, and the Chippewas attempted to win it with a two-point conversion, but the throw was incomplete.
