Last Year's Betting Odds
Last year’s edition of the Independence Bowl featured the BYU Cougars and the UAB Blazers. The Cougars were slightly above the Blazers by nailing a 10-3 season record compared to UAB’s 9-4 record at the end of the college football regular season.
The Cougars were set as favorites for the Independence Bowl at -250 odds. That meant a $250 bet on the Cougars would allow bettors to make a $100 profit. On the other hand, a $100 bet on the Blazers at +220 would have made bettors a $220 profit.
Bettors, who also considered the Blazers at -7.5 and the over of 39.5 points, recorded some solid earnings, especially after the Blazers surpassed the Cougars 31-28.
