Bowling Green Falcons – NCAAF History

Origins of the Bowling Green State Falcons

The Bowling Green State Falcons are a Division I FBS Football team based in Bowling Green, Ohio. Founded in 1919, Bowling Green State has an overall record of 550–414–52. With the Falcons team stats being moderately average over their first three decades, the program shifted into a powerhouse during the late 1950s and 1960s under Head Coach Doyt Perry, whom their current stadium is named after. Bowling Green won the NCAA College Division I National Championship in 1959, along with five Mid-American Conference titles between 1959 and 1965.

Mid-American Conference & East Division Titles

Despite limited success towards the end of the 20th Century, Bowling Green did manage to earn six more Mid-American Conference titles along with six East Division titles, the last of each coming in 2015.
