Utah State Aggies – NCAAF History
The Utah State Aggies are a Division I FBS Football team based in Logan, Utah. Initially founded in 1892, Utah State Aggies stats have an overall record of 571–556–31. The program achieved some early success, winning its first conference title in 1921 under Head Coach E.L. “Dick” Romney, who compiled a record of 128-91-16 over nearly three decades of play.
Utah State continued to flourish into the 1960s and 1970s, with many of its former players going on to play in the National Football League. However, the program would fall on hard times late into the seventies, with funding issues, inadequate facilities, and conference instability.
Twenty-First Century Turnaround
Things began to turn around for Utah State in the 21st Century when the Aggies began a streak of five consecutive bowl game appearances between 2011 and 2015. Under Head Coach Blake Anderson, the Aggies posted an 11-3 record in 2021, winning the Mountain West Championship with a 46-13 victory over San Diego State in the title game and capping off the season with a 24-13 win over Oregon State in the inaugural Los Angeles Bowl.
