2024 Justin Jefferson Season Odds: Reclaiming His Spot

Vikings Star Receiver Could Return To His Prolific Ways

In 2022, Justin Jefferson led the NFL in receiving yards with 1,809, or 99 more than Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins (1,710). The future was bright for the Minnesota Vikings and Jefferson heading into the 2023 season.

Through the first three weeks, it was business as usual for the former LSU star. Jefferson averaged over 150 yards receiving with a steady nine receptions per game.

Then the production started to decline with just 113 yards over the next two games against the Carolina Panthers (6-85, 2 touchdowns) and Kansas City Chiefs (3-28). Jefferson got hurt.

The three-time Pro-Bowler would only play four more full games after that but still fought for over 1,000 receiving (1,074). It took a 192-yard effort in the final week of the season against Detroit.

This season, the fifth-year pro is expected to be among the elite again. Many of the 2024 Justin Jefferson season odds place him right at the top.

Let’s examine a few to see where we can cash tickets.

Intriguing Over/Under Number is the Best Bet

Totals are what we like because they allow us to zero in on a player for the entire season. Oddsmakers have set Justin Jefferson’s season yardage number at 1300.5 (-112 each way).

What this prop is saying is, “Do you think the Vikings star will stay healthy?” We’re betting ‘No’. Hamstring soreness stays around for a long time.

When healthy, Jefferson breezes by a total like this, averaging over 1,600 yards in his first three seasons while missing just four games. We’re aware that these players have the best doctors and trainers in the world. Most of us have a $15 co-pay. But this number seems to be begging the public to go over.

As morbid as it sounds, we think the Pro Bowler will miss some games this season. That will hurt when trying to develop chemistry with new quarterback Sam Darnold (or J.J. McCarthy) and will make it difficult for people to put the Vikings on their weekly NFL picks and parlays card.

The +800 Is Worth A Shot

Oddsmakers believe that Justin Jefferson will be in the mix as the NFL’s leading receiver in 2024 but have posted odds that suggest that Tyreek Hill (Miami) +600 and Cee Dee Lamb (Dallas) +750 have displaced Jefferson (+800) as the league’s top threat.

We usually don’t recommend these wagers because it’s like a roulette wheel with 15 slots. All outcomes are created equal in roulette and not on an NFL Football field. But it’s hard to pick a winner when only two teams are involved.

However, we do like the potential of getting decent odds with an elite athlete with something to prove. Our only knock against placing this wager is Sam Darnold who completed less than 60% of his passes five times in his seven-year career.

It’s better than last season when Minnesota had four different starters behind center. But whether it’s Kirk Cousins, Joshua Dobbs, Nick Mullins, or Jaren Hall, they each completed more than 62% of their passes.

Darnold should be a massive upgrade from a foursome that threw 19 interceptions in 21 combined games. We also know that behind Darnold, and maybe not for long, is rookie J.J McCarthy who will be the main signal caller at some point this season.

Jefferson is one of the top receivers in the game. Thus, making an NFL betting line of +800 wager for him to lead the league in yardage is worth the risk despite the hurdles to start the season.

By the way, Jefferson and Lamb are both +800 with money rolling in on the Vikings’ massive threat as we speak.

Offensive Player Of The Year Wager Within Jefferson’s Grasp

If bettors think Justin Jefferson is a legitimate MVP candidate, they must put a few dollars down on better odds (+1000) if Jefferson wins the Offensive Player of the Year award.

The usual suspects are his competitors with Tyreek Hill (+800) at the top of the pile along with Christian McCaffery (+900) of the San Francisco 49ers. After that, Jefferson is lumped in with Ja’Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals and CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys.

Again, this always comes down to health, who his quarterback will be, and perhaps off-the-field issues, we’ve already seen Jefferson miss practice time due to a personal matter but if you’re a Vikings fan and want a little action on your guy,

Justin Jefferson is the safest bet the team has to offer this NFL season. That does it for your 2024 Justin Jefferson season odds, all the best with your wagers this season.
