2024 NFL Cheat Sheet: Kansas City Chiefs Stats & Odds

The 2024 Kansas City Chiefs Stats Could See Plenty of Wins and Perhaps Another Title

The Kansas City Chiefs Could Be Super Once Again in 2024

When looking at the 2024 Kansas City stats, the only number that matters is three as the Kansas City Chiefs look to become the first team in 93 years to win three consecutive NFL championships.

The Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, and New England Patriots have all won back-to-back Super Bowls, but the quest for a 3-peat ended with none of those teams reaching the Super Bowl the following season.

The last time a team won three consecutive NFL titles was the 1929-31 Green Bay Packers.

Kansas City was 8-2 on the road during the 2023 season. Although the Super Bowl following the 2020 season was played at the home stadium of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it was not considered to be a true road game.

Before winning in Buffalo and Baltimore in January, the last time the Chiefs won on the road in the playoffs was in 2016.

The Chiefs were second only to the Detroit Lions in covering 65% of their games during the 2023 season, with Kansas City 6-3-1 against the spread on the road. Only the Los Angeles Chargers and the Carolina Panthers had fewer games land over the total than the Chiefs.

Chiefs Chasing NFL History

Winning back-to-back Super Bowls is challenging, but making three straight Super Bowl runs has proven to be impossible. That has been especially true during the salary cap era.

There were five different champions from 2017 to 2021. While the New England Patriots and now the Chiefs have dominated the AFC, the same NFC team hasn’t made back-to-back trips to the Super Bowl since the Seattle Seahawks following the 2013 and 2014 seasons.

The Chiefs lost offensive linemen Nick Allegretti and Donovan Smith, receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and linebacker Willie Gay. However, most of the key players are back.

There are questions about possible impending punishment coming for second-year receiver Rashee Rice for off-the-field transgressions.

The Chiefs signed Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, one of the fastest players in the NFL, and then drafted Xavier Worthy. The former Texas star ran the fastest 40-yard dash in the history of the NFL Scouting Combine.

The thought of former NFL Most Valuable Player Patrick Mahomes now being able to throw the ball to Brown and Worthy, along with all-everything tight end Travis Kelce, is not good news for opposing defensive coordinators. Keep that in mind when looking at the 2024 Kansas City Chiefs stats.

Super Bowl Odds: The Chiefs Are the Team to Beat

Not even four losses at home during the 2023 season could prevent the Kansas City Chiefs from repeating as Super Bowl champions.

The Chiefs opened as the favorite in the Super Bowl odds and that hasn’t changed following the NFL Draft and the opening of training camps.

While the offense gets much of the attention, Kansas City’s defense was second in the NFL with an average of 289.8 yards allowed per game during the 2023 regular season.

Even with the departures of L’Jarius Sneed, Willie Gay, and Mike Edwards, the defense could be imposing once again while any offense led by Mahomes and Kelce is one to be feared as the 2024 Kansas City stats could be impressive once again.

Conference Odds: Plenty of Contenders

There are plenty of teams in the AFC who could end the Chiefs’ hopes of another Super Bowl title, even though the Chiefs have +300 odds to be the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs.

The Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Houston Texans, and Miami Dolphins are among the teams making personnel moves to contend with the Chiefs. Kansas City will play four of those teams during the regular season, so it will be worth watching the AFC playoff seedings.

Kansas City silenced plenty of doubters by winning a pair of games on the road in the 2023 playoffs, so the Chiefs don’t need home-field advantage to prove that they are the best team in the NFL.

Division Odds: Chiefs Go After A Ninth Straight Title

The Chiefs have won eight consecutive AFC West Division titles. Kansas City is 41-7 against the AFC West since the start of the 2016 season. The next closest team during that stretch is the Dallas Cowboys, who have been 35-13 against NFC East squads over the last eight seasons.

The Los Angeles Chargers hired Jim Harbaugh away from national champion Michigan as they look to offer competition to the Chiefs. The Raiders could also factor into the playoff picture while the Denver Broncos are in rebuilding mode.

The Chargers are a distant second at +350 to win the AFC West, followed by the Raiders at +900.

Regular Season Wins: Plenty of Wins For the Chiefs To Snare

The Chiefs’ run of seasons with at least 12 regular-season wins ended at five, as Kansas City was 11-6 during the 2023 season. The Chiefs are expected to be in the range of 11 or 12 regular season wins again.

When looking at the 2024 NFL schedule, Kansas City faces AFC title contenders Baltimore and Cincinnati in the first two games, with the Chiefs listed by the NFL betting lines as 3 and 3.5-point favorites in those matchups.

It could be worth rolling with the Chiefs to go over 11½ wins.

To Make Playoffs: Next Question.

There aren’t many sure things in sports these days but yes, we are feeling pretty good about the Chiefs making it into the playoffs.

There is a Super Bowl rematch with the San Francisco 49ers. That is part of a stretch when five of the first 10 games come against teams that made the playoffs so there will be some challenging games to navigate.

Side Bets

Mahomes has -110 odds to go either over or under 4300.5 passing yards. There is good value at +115 to go over 34.5 touchdown passes, according to the NFL betting odds.

  • Travis Kelce is at +110 to go over 900.5 receiving yards and -115 to finish with at least seven touchdown grabs.
  • Xavier Worthy has +140 odds to go over 800.5 receiving yards and is at +110 to finish over 4.5 TDs.

Don’t forget about running back Isiah Pacheco in the 2024 Kansas City Chiefs stats, as he is at -130 to go over 6.5 TDs and has -115 odds to exceed 900.5 rushing yards.

Mahomes is the front-runner at +500 in the NFL MVP odds, while Worthy is tied for eighth at +2000 to be the Offensive Rookie of the Year. Mahomes is also favored with +650 odds to lead the NFL in passing touchdowns and comes in at +500 to top the NFL stat leaders in passing yards.

Chris Jones has +2800 odds to be the NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
