Alimkhanuly vs Butler Betting Predicts Easy Fight

There is a Big Difference in Betting Markets

Alimkhanuly vs Butler betting odds predict a one-sided fight for the WBO World Middleweight title on Saturday in Stockton.

Zhanibek Alimkhanuly is the raging-hot 3000 favorite with boxing betting lines to retain his title, which he won against Denzel Bentley in November.

Butler is a 32-3-1 fighter, but he is being despised at +1000, so we can’t imagine he’ll feature on too many boxing bets.

Alimkhanuly Puts Unbeaten Record to the Test

The 30-year-old is a perfect 13-0 with eight wins by knockout, so we’re not surprised by the Alimkhanuly vs Butler odds.

He won the interim world title against Danny Dignum with a second-round knockout, before beating Bentley via unanimous decision.

It was a close fight at times, but Alimkhanuly always had the advantage, which will make it tough for Butler to win the fight on points.

He has loved being the champion, and although he has been criticized for taking easy fights at times, it’s all about winning.

“There are many boxers in the world who want to become world champion,” Alimkhanuly said.

“Everyone works hard and trains hard but not everyone manages to become a champion. I am glad that I am one of those who became a champion. Being a champion is really cool.”

He believes he has become a better fighter since beating Bentley, which is a scary thought for Butler.

“To be honest, the last fight changed me,” Alimkhanuly says. “Now I am a different boxer. I already feel it. We have changed the training process. I am currently working very educated conditioning trainers. I had five sparring partners in this camp. Twice a week we work 10 rounds in the mitts. I’m already different.”

He’s the -3000 favorite for a reason and that could be shown on Saturday night.

Butler Facing Massive Rise in Class

It’s all very well to have a 32-3-1 record, but Butler has been facing much lower-level boxers throughout his career.

He has been critical of boxers who want to protect their records, so we credit him for at least putting his record on the line.

He did so against Ryota Murata for the WBA World Middleweight title in 2019, which ended with Butler being knocked out in the fifth round.

The 27-year-old Canadian then lost again to Jose de Jesus Macias, which again ended with a fifth-round stoppage. However, he currently rides a four-fight winning streak, with two of those wins coming by TKO.

There are concerns about his most recent win against Joshua Conley, which went to the judges’ scorecards. It was deemed a close fight, and we don’t rate Conley very highly, so he rises massively in class for this bout.

“Before my losses to Murata and Macias, I felt like nobody can beat me. I felt my power was too strong and you’re young and undefeated and can knock everybody out,” Butler said.

“[The losses] put me in a better position to [improve] and to practice on some specific things that weren’t good, like my defense. I’ve just dedicated myself more to working on the things I’m not as good at. I learnt a lot about myself from the defeats.”

We admire his candidness, but as Alimkhanuly vs Butler betting odds suggest, he has little chance of winning a world title on this occasion. He would need to land a big early punch and send Alimkhanuly to the canvas, but it would be one of the biggest upsets in recent history.
