American Favored with Prograis vs Zorrilla Odds
WBC Super Lightweight Title Fight

Prograis vs Zorrilla odds predict American Regis Prograis holding onto his WBC Super Lightweight title on Saturday.
The 28-1 fighter takes on Puerto Rican challenger Danielito Zorrilla, who also has only one loss on his 17-1 record.
Boxing betting odds have Prograis at -1400, so he’s expected to be far too good.
Best in the World?
Prograis is currently ranked as the best lightweight in the world, despite having a loss to Josh Taylor on his record.
Taylor was beaten easily by Teofimo Lopez on the weekend, so in terms of boxing fighters, we’re not sure the rankings are accurate.
“I still feel like I stop Teo, for sure,” Prograis to Fighthype bout his belief that he’ll knock out Teofimo Lopez said. “Styles make fights, and I definitely think I’ll stop Teo. I’m definitely a different fighter.”
However, there is no doubting the talent of Prograis, and he bounced back from his only career loss in fine style with four consecutive knockout victories.
The first came against Juan Heraldez in what was an easy fight, but we are more interested in his win over Jose Zepeda, which came with a late 11-round knockout.
Prograis was ahead on the scorecards at the time of the knockout, which secured him the vacant WBC Lightweight belt.
Prograis vs Zorrilla odds have Prograis at a short quote, so they don’t think he’ll lose to Zorrilla. Based on recent form, it’s hard to picture Prograis being tested by a fighter outside the top 25 in the world.
Zepeda was a much harder opponent and he made him look second rate. Therefore, bettors shouldn’t be afraid to take the short odds for the favorite.
Zorrilla Has Potential
We don’t think the +700 underdog with Prograis vs Zorrilla odds should be overlooked, despite what the statistics suggest.
Zorrilla isn’t a better fighter than Prograis, but that doesn’t always mean Prograis is a lock to win the fight.
The 29-year-old isn’t even the best-ranked Puerto Rican in the division, but he comes off a first-round knockout, and he could bring that confidence to the ring on Saturday at the Smoothie King Arena.
However, there are holes in his record and we’re about to expose them. He defeated Ruslan Madiyev in 2021, but that was because Madiyev was disqualified for hitting him in the back of the head twice.
He then lost to Arnold Barboza Jr by unanimous decision, which was his toughest test to date, and he didn’t come up with the goods.
He doesn’t believe anyone thinks he can beat Prograis.
“I went to social media to [see what people are saying], and they don’t really have me in mind. I don’t think anyone sees me winning [against Prograis] This motivates me. I like it because I see it as a challenge,” Zorrilla said.
“People mention Manny Rodriguez as the fifth [boxer who will become a champion in Puerto Rico], and he’s going to be the sixth. Nobody takes me into consideration, but I count on myself and that night I will show a lot and I will be the fifth world champion of Puerto Rico.”
We love his confidence, but the reality isn’t as bright. While Prograis isn’t the complete fighter, he outclasses Zorrilla, and we expect the favorite to be far too good.
The 12-round fight could go the distance, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see Prograis end the fight early. Zorrilla hasn’t faced the same level of power as Prograis, who owns 24 wins by knockout.
