Big Bets Coming for Crawford Versus Madrimov

Madrimov vs Crawford Boxing Odds Go Back and Forth

Terence Crawford is one of the best boxers in the world, and he’s eyeing a belt in the fourth division as he challenges WBA super welterweight champion Israil Madrimov. After opening at -750 with Madrimov vs Crawford boxing odds, the big bets have gone both ways.

The American tops our boxing betting picks, and although Madrimov is a quality contender, he could be outclassed at BMO Stadium on Saturday.

Madrimov: A Force to be Reckoned With?

Madrimov is now ranked third in the welterweight rankings. The 29-year-old, who resides in the United States, doesn’t have many top-level fights on his record, but he comes off a TKO win over Magomed Kurbanov. He took care of the 25-0 fighter in the fifth round, and that’s what sparked the early betting interest in the challenger.

However, Madrimov’s odds have drifted to +500. We’re not shocked by that, as we expected money to come for Crawford, but it’s now a value price for the 29-year-old champion.

The Uzbek has only 11 fights on his professional record, winning 10 and drawing against Michel Soro. However, despite his lack of experience, especially compared to Crawford, there is an air of confidence in his camp according to the latest boxing news.

“The Olympics and my fight are probably equally big in Uzbekistan, the Olympics is something the whole country waits four years for. But my fight is the biggest fight any Uzbekistan fighter has been in, against a pound-for-pound No. 1, and on a big stage.” Madrimov said.

It’s a big fight for Madrimov and his country, so bettors taking the underdog odds are hoping the occasion doesn’t get the better of him.

He’s not the best fighter in this matchup. But he’s the champion and is younger. He’s dangerous and could give Crawford something to worry about, despite Madrimov vs Crawford boxing odds saying otherwise.

Another Day in the Crawford Office

The unbeaten Crawford has fought tougher opponents than Madrimov. This could be another day in the office for the two-division undisputed champion. He last fought in 2023 when scoring a TKO win over Errol Spence Jr. so he still has plenty of power in his hands. His last nine fights have ended by knockout or TKO, which is an incredible statistic for a 36-year-old.

Crawford was expected to slow down at this stage and score some decision victories. But he’s showing why he’s one of the greatest. He has knocked out some of the best in the division, including Amir Khan, Jose Benavidez, and David Avanesyan, so it’s a glittering record.

The southpaw hasn’t fought too many opponents like Madrimov, which is where there is some concern, and he’s not overlooking the challenger.

“I was looking to fight Charlo, he left, so I‘ve got a fight with whoever I could get for a world title, Israil Madrimov is a tremendous fighter. He’s 10-0, already a world champion. He’s a tough dangerous fighter. I think it’s going to be an exciting fight.” Crawford said.

Boxing betting markets took plenty of money for Crawford over the last 48 years. He opened at a generous -750 line, but that was not going to last.

His line dropped to -900 but has been bet back up to -700 per the Madrimov vs Crawford boxing odds. This is not a bad value as we priced him at around -900.

Crawford Showing Why He’s King

We think Crawford can continue his winning streak, and we’re picking him to win by KO or TKO. He has put better fighters on the canvas and has 12 rounds to work with. It could be a rough night for Madrimov. Bettors get -155 for Crawford to win by TKO/KO, which is on the short side. But we’re happy to include him in our boxing picks.

The American is a much better fighter. It’s easy to get carried away with Madrimov’s rise to the top. But he has never faced someone like Crawford. The bright lights and facing someone with a 40-0 record could be too much for the champ, who is the rightful underdog.

There is better value with Crawford to win in round 7. That option pays +1100 at the sportsbook, and although it’s a hard bet to cash, the odds make it worthwhile.
