Cameron Wants to Make History

All the boxing greats have one thing in common, ambition. Chantelle Cameron is not short of it as the prodigy wants to do something no female boxer has done yet – fight in three-minute rounds. Weeks after Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano put women’s boxing on the map, Cameron and her trainer Jamie Moore advocated for her to defend her belts under three-minute rounds. Ultimately, the commission denied them.

“All I want to do is set my own bit of history,” Cameron told the PA news agency. “At the minute they said ‘no’ but hopefully I’d get that opportunity to be the first. Hopefully, it will happen because I’d love to do three-minute rounds.”

With women’s boxing now a hot commodity, Cameron knows she isn’t the only promising boxer angling to share the ring with either Taylor or Serrano. Cameron’s spotless record is just her starting point. She will have to put on some impressive performances and do whatever she can to get Taylor and the promoters to put her in front of the line. The odds will change quickly on Chantelle Cameron vs Noelia Bustos, get in now.

“They’re the sort of nights you dream of. Even watching it, I thought ‘God, will I ever have that opportunity? Will I ever be on one of those fight nights?'”

Cameron already defeated Mary McGee as she unified the WBC and IBF titles. Next on her list could be Kali Reis, who holds the WBA and WBO titles. If and when this happens and Cameron is successful, a “superfight” with Taylor could be in her future.

Bustos Still Looking for Big Break

Victoria Bustos is a huge underdog heading to England, at least 10-1 by the online sportsbook but the 33-year-old has something over Chantelle Cameron – big fight experience. Bustos has shared the squared circle with the likes of Cecilia Braekhus and Katie Taylor. Yes, she got schooled in both bouts but Bustos can at least say she’s been in there with the best. A bout with Cameron should not faze her.

The Argentinian was also supposed to box Mary McGee in August of last year but that fight fell through. It is unfinished business for Bustos as she had some heated exchanges with McGee.

“I accept that [McGee] criticizes my KO ratio or that maybe she doesn’t hold me in high regard as a boxer,” Bustos told NY Fights. “But I will not accept that she told me I have never fought against anyone because I have fought the best in the world. I mention that because she is not only disrespecting me, but she is disrespecting them as well.”

It is true that Bustos, who conspicuously has zero knockout wins on her record, she may lack the power to threaten the top boxers in the world. But she is a wily veteran who will put on a show regardless of who is standing in front of her.

Bet on Chantelle Cameron vs Noelia Bustos to be entertaining even if it is a one-sided showcase for the hometown hero. If you’re looking for something different, and a great way to make a buck or two, then you must bet on boxing.
