The American has steadily risen in the ranks in the IBF, and despite not holding the WBA, WBC, or WBO belt, he deserves to be called a world champion.

Terence Crawford declined to fight Ennis, which is a big statement.

“I’m excited to be back in the ring. That’s my main thing, being back in the ring, putting on a show for my friends and family. Throwing in a big statement with a big knockout. I’m going in to have fun and put on a show.”
His boxing schedule has been light, but that hasn’t stopped him in the past, and he looks for a quick stoppage in front of a home crowd in Philadelphia.

Avanesyan Could Rock the Boat
If Avanesyan can land a power punch to the chin of Ennis, it could be night night for the champion.
He has enough power in his hands to do damage, having scored 18 wins by knockout, and scoring knockout wins over Oskari Metz and Josh Kelly.
However, his fight against Crawford is the best form guide for his fight, and he didn’t look good.
The pound-for-pound champion knocked him out in the sixth round, improving his record to 38-0.
Crawford didn’t want to fight Ennis, which could be bad news for Avanesyan, and Ennis vs Avanesyan odds agree.
He isn’t expected to go the full 12 rounds after lasting just six against Crawford. He also lost every round prior to that, so he wasn’t doing enough to win on points either.
However, the Russian is relishing the role as the betting underdog.
“I want the best fighters, he’s one of the best fighters but that’s what I want,” Avansyan said. “It’s good chance for me, it’s not like I’m starting my career, I want the best. I love the fact he’s one of the so-called best.
“He’s all-around very good but he’s vulnerable to being hit. I’m hungry. I just want to beat him. It’s my last chance.”
He won’t get any more chances to fight for a title, so he could leave it all inside the ring.
A Quick Night for Ennis
We expect Ennis to end the fight with a knockout quickly, so we’re taking the -600 odds.
He’s the much better fighter, and when a champion like Crawford is avoiding you, that’s usually for a good reason.
He has cement for hands, and Avansyan could end his career in the worst way possible.
