Inoue vs Butler Betting Odds Preview: The Most Lopsided Undisputed Battle

The Monster Should Gobble Up Baby-Faced Assassin

Boxing Odds Have This Quick and Easy for Inoue

Naoya Inoue, “The Monster” is the uncrowned undisputed bantamweight champion of the world. At least, that’s what the Inoue vs Butler betting odds are offering.

The unbeaten champ is set to collect the final belt in the division as he fights Paul Butler, who came out of nowhere to upset Jonas Sultan and claim the WBO side. Inoue is listed at -5000 with the comeback on Butler at +1200. And the round totals are favored to go under 2.5 rounds (-130). In short, get ready for a squash fight.

No Stopping Inoue

It’s not hyperbole to suggest that Inoue is Japan’s greatest boxer. And after Tuesday, he could be the first Japanese man to capture all four belts in a weight division. Inoue, still just 29, is only getting better. He knocked out Nonito Donaire in just two rounds after going to a decision with him three years ago. Inoue has come this far.

Now, primed for a historic victory in front of his home fans, Inoue is ready to deliver as the Inoue vs Butler betting odds indicate.

“At last, I’m primed and ready to go,”
“I want to produce an overwhelming victory.” Inoue told the media ahead of Tuesday’s fight at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo.

For Inoue, the last thing left on his checklist at 118 pounds is to capture the WBO belt and to become the undisputed champion. He destroyed his opponents and made short work of nearly every champion and challenger. If he beats Butler, Inoue could well vacate his belts and move up to 122 pounds for bigger fights.

“I think this might be my last fight as a bantamweight, and I’m driven by a desire I’ve never felt before,” Inoue continued. “I need to state my case for a switch to super bantam.”

Indeed, those betting on boxing fights like this will need to stake their whole payroll to get a decent return ($5,000 to win $100 currently). There may be more value in betting on Inoue to finish Butler within the 2.5 rounds as the totals have it. As far as boxing tips are concerned, that may be the way to go here.

Does Butler Really Have a Shot?

It might be cliche to suggest that Butler is playing the part of “Rocky” in this fight. The 12-1 underdog is given a 7.28 percent shot of winning this fight based on the Inoue vs Butler betting odds. But the Englishman has already come through as an underdog when he upset Sultan to capture the title. Of course, Joe Gallagher more than believes his fighter can pull it off.

“We have got a prime Paul Butler here, and he is not one trick pony. He can do front foot, back foot, orthodox, southpaw, he has a lot to his game,”
“We are highly motivated. The gym has had a great year this year. We are coming off the back of Natasha Jonas’ fantastic win.” Gallagher said.

As he stated, Butler will be more than prepared for Inoue. But executing on it is the million-dollar question. Butler does not have the speed, technique, or power to match Inoue. And as far as tactics, he tends to use a high guard that plays right into Inoue’s strength – his body shots.

Inoue lives up to his “Monster” moniker. He feasts on his opponents, and has flattened many of them with vicious body shots.

“It is the toughest task in boxing,” Butler revealed. “I have said it to everyone. My dad said it to me about six or seven weeks ago. This is the toughest task in boxing.”

But the key word is “tough”, not “impossible.” The betting odds may have already written Butler off. But come December 13, he has a chance to prove everyone wrong.
