Bohachuk Equally as Impressive

He might have a loss on his record, but 29-year-old Ukrainian boxer Bohachuk has been on a knockout tear.

He lost to Brandon Adams by TKO in 2021, but he owns 23 wins by knockout from 25 fights, so bettors should expect the fight to end before the final round.

They are aggressive fighters who seek the killer blow, and Bohachuk looks ready for this fight. However, facing Ortiz Jr. is a steep rise in class.

Bohachuk scored a decision win over Brian Mendoza in March, which was his first victory by decision. He dominated the fight to win the interim title, and now he puts it on the line against one of the best in the world.

Ranked seventh in the world, Bohachuk is the rightful +225 underdog with Bohachuk vs Ortiz Jr. boxing odds. He doesn’t have the same top-level experience as Ortiz Jr, and being beaten by Adams isn’t a good look.

The champion needs to cope with the pressure of fighting an aggressive opponent, but he looked good when knocking out Patrick Allotey in the first round in 2023.

He’s proud to be from his country, and it hasn’t been an easy road to fight in Las Vegas, according to the latest boxing news.

“I’m proud to be Ukrainian and with every fight I want to show Ukrainian people that Ukraine is a strong country. My goal now is to motivate my country: Be strong, be a winner, be a champion,” Bohachuk said.

It could come down to who lands the first blow, so Bohachuck is a chance of winning at the value odds.

Ortiz Jr. Can’t Look Too Far Ahead

There are possibly bigger fights on the horizon for Ortiz Jr, but he can’t look too far ahead.

Bohachuk is a tough fighter, and he’s tougher than the last two fighters Ortiz Jr. has faced in the ring.

His latest boxing results were knockout wins over Frederick Lawson and Thomas Dulorme, who aren’t very good. However, he ended those fights in the first round.

His toughest recent fight came against Michael McKinson for the WBO international welterweight title, where he scored by TKO in the ninth round.

He was meant to fight Australia’s Tim Tszyu before he pulled out. Then he was meant to fight Ryan Garcia before the American was banned for a failed drug test.

Fighting Bohachuk is easier than those fights would have been, but he knows he’s preparing for war against a highly aggressive fighter.

“I think it will be something like [a war], our fighting styles complement each other, for sure. It’s going to be a good one. We’re pretty familiar with each other.” Ortiz said.

Having a perfect knockout record is tough to overlook, which is why Bohachuk vs Ortiz Jr.’s boxing odds have him favored to win.

However, because of his record, he could have been much shorter than -300. We priced him around -500, and he’s ranked second in the world for a reason.

Ortiz Jr. Wins by Knockout

With Bohachuk eyeing a knockout victory, that could leave his defenses open, and Ortiz Jr. knows how to strike.

The current total rounds line is 9.5; the under has been backed into -120. We agree that the fight will be over before the final round, and we’re happy to include under 9.5 in our picks.

Couple that with Ortiz Jr. to win outright and by knockout, and bettors can enjoy value odds.

The class advantage is with Ortiz Jr, who has bigger world title fights on the horizon, and we can’t see Bohachuk getting in his way.

It will be an exciting fight, and there could be a record number of punches thrown in the opening rounds. That’ll go at it, but ultimately, skill is on the side of the favorite and likely champion.
