Luiz Alberto Lopez puts his IBF Featherweight title on the line against outsider Angelo Leo on Saturday night in Albuquerque.
The Mexican is the -500 favorite with Lopez vs Leo boxing odds, and he’s currently ranked second in the division.
He’ll be looking to close in on the top ranking with a win over Leo, who faces the biggest of his upcoming boxing fights.
The Money on Lopez Looks Right
It’s hard to bet against Lopez with Lopez vs Leo boxing odds.
The 30-year-old rebounded from his latest loss to Ruben Villa in 2019 with 13 consecutive wins, and he has beaten some good boxers over the last five years.
He defeated Reiya Abe by TKO in the eighth round earlier this year, and he won’t see Leo as a harder opponent.

Leo is only a one-loss fighter, so he’s not an easy opponent. However, having big fights on his record puts Lopez on another level.
It’s a 12-round fight, so he has time to measure Leo and land a big punch. He’ll be happy to see out a decision victory, and this will be good practice for a bigger fight in 2025.
Leo Needing Courage to Win
Leo’s biggest fight came against Stephen Fulton in 2021, resulting in a one-sided decision loss.
Having that experience helps his cause, but he lost almost every round in that fight, so he needs to call on his courage to get the win.

I’m more mature now and I want to be a good role model for him and set him up for the future. “I have a lot to fight for now.” Leo said.
However, having a crowd cheering for you isn’t enough to beat some of the world’s best boxers. Lopez is one of the world’s best in the featherweight division, so he’ll need to be much better than he was against Fulton.
He might need to rely on his power to get it done. We can’t see him winning by decision, so if he looks for an early knockout, he could pull off a big upset.

A Positive Parlay Pick
It’s hard to get too much value out of the -500 odds for Lopez, but he’s well worth including in boxing parlays.
The Mexican is the much better boxer, and we think money will come for the favorite throughout the week.
We see him starting at around -800, so there is good value with his current odds, and he’s worth backing to win by decision.
Winning by knockout isn’t his forte, and Leo could fight conservatively given his last big-name fight. Therefore, Lopez could control the tempo and score a comfortable points victory.
