Serrano vs Cruz Odds Preview: Serrano Fights to Claim All Featherweight Belts
Alycia Baumgardner Goes for Undisputed Status

Serrano and Baumgardner Favored at Similar Lines
The women’s featherweight division is in the spotlight this Saturday with two undisputed title fights. Amanda Serrano and Alycia Baumgardner open as lofty favorites. The Serrano vs Cruz odds favor the former with Baumgardner lined identically against Elhem Mekhaled.
The WBA ordered both these bouts as both champs look to dominate and this could be a precursor to a potential “superfight” between the two.
Amanda Serrano vs Erika Cruz

Serrano and Cruz Rekindle Puerto Rico/México Rivalry
Amanda Serrano and Erika Cruz Hernandez will join a prestigious list of boxers that have brought fire and fame to this classic rivalry. From Wilfredo Gomez to Miguel Cotto Julio on Puerto Rico’s side to Julio Cesar Chavez to Saulo “Canelo” Alvarez in Mexico, legendary boxers have fought against each other.
Even with the wide odds, Amanda Serrano versus Cruz should be “fire” as they say nowadays. Both boxers are offensively oriented so there will be plenty of punches thrown in this bout. It is just a question of who can outlast the other and as the Serrano vs Cruz odds indicate, it’s an 82.8 percent chance that it will be the former.
More than titles are at stake here. For Serrano, it could be the first time Puerto Rico crowns an undisputed champion. Indeed, despite having held nine major titles across seven weight classes, the 34-year-old has yet to capture all of a division’s titles. Serrano and her team did not expect this opportunity. But it’s here for them.
“It wasn’t always a dream of ours, or the team, it wasn’t always the main goal to become undisputed champion,”
“I was satisfied just being the WBO champion at featherweight but now, that’s the era.” ~SerranoÂ
As for Cruz, she recently just became a champion when she defeated Jelena Mrdjenovich in 2021. She defended the belt twice since including beating Mrdjenovich for a second time. Her championship-winning performance was also the first time she’s fought outside of her native soil.
Now, Cruz has a chance to make more waves as she takes on the top featherweight boxer in the world. Those betting on boxing can make $450 for every $100 bet they put on Cruz.
While she’s less renowned as her opponent, she is a champion and one that lives up to her moniker “Dinamita”(Dynamite) with her explosive style.
Alycia Baumgardner vs Elhem Mekhaled
Date & Time:
Boxers: Alycia Baumgardner (C) (13-1-1, 11 KOs) vs Elhem Mekhaled (15-1-0, 5 KOs)
Location: Hulu Theater at MSG, New York, New York
Title: Undisputed Female Super Featherweight (130 lbs)
Baumgardner Looks to Stay Hot
Even if Mekhaled is all but a substitute in this undisputed title fight, Baumgardner will roll through her. The actual WBA champion, Choi Hyun-Mi was unable to compete due to an injury, so, Mekhaled steps in.
The French boxer is coming off a loss against Delfine Persoon. This was the first time she tasted defeat and has otherwise dominated her competition.
As for Baumgardner, she knows just what Mekhaled will bring to the table. Like Baumgardner was against Mayer, Mekhaled will come into the fight with nothing to lose. Baumgardner then switches from the “hunter” to the “hunted.” Still, the newly crowned champ will enter the fight with the same intensity.
“She [Mekhaled] was supposed to fight for the title, that didn’t happen and now she’s able to fight for undisputed so I know she’s a hungry fighter,”
“She’s coming with everything but this is my time to shine.” ~BaumgardnerÂ
Like the Serrano vs Cruz odds, Mekhaled is a +450 underdog here. Either she or Cruz could pull off the upset and a parlay of both would be $2,925 for every $100 wager. That’s a hell of a boxing betting tip if it happens. But if the odds are justified, a thunderous victory for both Serrano and Baumgardner will crown two undisputed boxers one weight class apart.
Talks of a potential bout between the two – they may even face off in the ring – it’s likely already being planned.
