Surprise Top Four Teams Clash on Sunday

We’ve got one more Bundesliga weekend before the league breaks for the World Cup and it’s a good one. Bayern Munich will go for ten wins in a row in all competitions when they face Schalke 04 on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Bundesliga match of the week is a top four clash between SC Freiburg and Union Berlin. Let’s preview Freiburg vs. Union and review some of the other important Bundesliga Matchday 15 odds.

Game of the Week:

SC Freiburg vs. Union Berlin

Date, time (TV):
Location: Europa-Park Stadion

SC Freiburg and Union Berlin have been two of the biggest surprises of the Bundesliga season. Now, they’ll meet on Matchday 15 in the first of two meetings this season. The Bundesliga Matchday 15 odds price home side Freiburg at +115 odds to cover the ½-goal spread as favorites, which is the same price as their moneyline.

Union, who are in third place but winless in their last two, show -135 odds ATS and +260 moneyline odds. Two of the six previous Bundesliga meetings have finished in draws and another one sits at +225 odds.

Freiburg have struggled in this matchup recently, with just one win in six Bundesliga fixtures. Christian Streich’s Freiburg are in second place but lost 3-1 to RB Leipzig on Wednesday.

All three of Freiburg’s league losses have come to teams who finished in the top four last season. Meanwhile, Sheraldo Becker scored his seventh goal of the season but it wasn’t enough for Union to win on Wednesday. They drew 2-2 vs. Augsburg and come into this match with just a 3-3-1 away record.

However, Union won 4-1 in this fixture last season and Becker was also on the scoresheet. This one isn’t exactly expected to be a goalfest, with the match over/under listed as 2½ goals.

The under is implied to be more likely, at -125 odds, and the over is priced at +105. That could have something to do with Freiburg’s impressive clean sheet record at home. They’ve conceded just four goals at the Europa-Park Stadion in six matches, with four clean sheets.

Other Matches to Bet On:

Borussia Monchengladbach vs. Borussia Dortmund

Date, time (TV):
Location: Borussia-Park

Two sides from North Rhine-Westphalia clash on Friday as Borussia Monchengladbach host Borussia Dortmund. The Bundesliga odds price Dortmund as +115 road favorites and they show the same odds to cover the ½-goal spread. Both soccer teams lost midweek so they’ll be itching to bounce back and get in the win column.

Gladbach are +210 underdogs and priced at -135 odds to cover the spread.

Dortmund have had a tough time on the road this season with just a 3-4 record. Plus, they’ve kept a clean sheet in just one of seven road matches. They’re coming off a 2-0 defeat at Wolfsburg on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Borussia Monchengladbach have lost three of their last four Bundesliga games.

Gladbach are yet to draw at home and Dortmund haven’t drawn on the road but one is priced at +285 odds. Under 3½ goals sits at -135 odds and the over displays +115 odds.

Werder Bremen vs. RB Leipzig

Date, time (TV):
Location: Wohninvest Weserstadion

The Bundesliga Matchday 15 odds price RB Leipzig as -125 favorites on the road at Werder Bremen on Saturday. Leipzig are flying high after a 3-1 win over SC Freiburg and are also priced at -125 odds to cover the ½-goal spread. Werder Bremen got smacked 6-1 by Bayern Munich on Tuesday and have conceded 25 goals through 14 matches.

Werder sit at +105 odds to cover and their moneyline is listed at +295. Marco Rose’s Leipzig have scored multiple goals in each of their last nine matches in all competitions.

Christopher Nkunku keeps getting better and is the presumed Bundesliga golden boot favorite. Both over and under three goals for the match sit at -110 odds. Four of Leipzig’s last five matches have gone over that total.

Schalke 04 vs. Bayern Munich

Date, time (TV):
Location: Veltins-Arena

Schalke 04 got their first win under Thomas Reis on Wednesday but it wasn’t enough to get them out of last place. At the other end of the spectrum, first place Bayern Munich defeated Werder Bremen 6-1 on Tuesday.

Sadio Mane is out injured for the Bavarians but Bayern are -550 moneyline favorites. They’re also priced at -140 odds to cover the two-goal spread, with Schalke +2 listed at +120 odds. Bayern have won four matches on the road this season but only two have come by more than a two-goal margin.

Bayern have won the last 10 meetings so it’s unsurprising Schalke are +1225 underdogs. A draw is also implied to be unlikely, at +625 odds. The last five matches between these two have ended in shutout wins for Bayern. Still, the over/under goal total is four. The over is priced at even odds while the under comes in at -120.
