DFB Pokal Quarterfinals Odds: Bundesliga’s Top Four Also in German Cup

Heavy Hitters Remain in DFB Pokal

Bundesliga’s Top Four Also in German Cup Quarter Finals

All of the Bundesliga’s current top four teams qualified for the upcoming DFB Pokal quarterfinals. In fact, all of the top six Bundesliga teams remain in the competition. That means some excellent quarterfinals matchups. Eintracht Frankfurt and Union Berlin kick off the quarterfinals on Tuesday, followed by a match between Bayern Munich and SC Freiburg. On Wednesday, underdogs Nürnberg and Stuttgart face off, as well as RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund. We’ll take a look at all of the major DFB Pokal quarterfinals odds in this week’s preview.

Quarter Finals Matches

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Union Berlin

Date, Time:

Eintracht Frankfurt certainly aren’t to be estimated in knockout competitions. Oliver Glasner’s side won last season’s UEFA Europa League and qualified for this season’s Champions League round of 16. Frankfurt, who have gone through a recent rough patch, lost in the round of 16 to Milan but are still dangerous. They’ll take on Union Berlin to kick off the quarterfinals. In this matchup, the home team has won the last five meetings. It’s no surprise that Frankfurt are 0.5-goal favorites for the match and they show +130 ATS and moneyline odds.

Union Berlin are still in the Bundesliga title race, just four points behind leaders Bayern Munich. Union recently lost to Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League but have won their last two Bundesliga matches. That includes a 2-0 win over Frankfurt in mid-March in which Rani Khedira and Kevin Behrens found the back of the net. Union are -160 favorites to cover the spread but enter this match as +230 moneyline underdogs. Eintracht did defeat Union 2-0 in the reverse fixture this season though, even playing with ten men for over 20 minutes.

These teams have only drawn once in eight recent meetings, but one sits at +210 odds here. A quick look at the soccer team stats shows that Eintracht Frankfurt keeper Kevin Trapp has the joint-most clean sheets in the competition, with two. However, Eintracht Frankfurt have conceded in their last seven matches and haven’t won since February, in all competitions. Over 2 goals come in at -125 odds as Jesper Lindstrom remains out for Frankfurt.

Bayern Munich vs SC Freiburg

Date, Time:

The Thomas Tuchel era officially got underway at Bayern Munich last weekend and it started auspiciously well. By defeating rivals Borussia Dortmund, 4-2, Bayern returned to the top of the Bundesliga table. Now, the Bavarians take on SC Freiburg for the first of two meetings in a one-week span. On Tuesday, the two sides will meet in the DFB Pokal before their Saturday Bundesliga contest. The DFB Pokal quarterfinals odds price Bayern Munich as two-goal home favorites for the match.

Although they are heavy favorites, the Bavarians are currently juggling three competitions. Tuchel’s side are competing for the Bundesliga, UCL and DFB Pokal in the next month-and-a-half. With their crucial Champions League matchup vs. Manchester City next week, Tuchel could certainly rotate his squad for this match. In any case, Bayern come in at even odds to cover and -455 odds to win the match. Bayern got out to a 4-0 lead in their Der Klassiker win over Dortmund on Saturday and have the ability to put goals on anyone. However, under 3.5 goals sit at -130 odds for the match.

Thomas Muller got on the scoresheet twice for Bayern on Saturday and the Bavarians have a bunch of players capable of putting the ball in the back of the net. Freiburg’s main goal threat is Vincenzo Grifo, who scored in the 1-1 draw vs. Hertha on Sunday. Freiburg are in fourth place in the Bundesliga but haven’t beaten Bayern in any of their last 13 meetings. The visitors come in at -130 odds to cover and +1000 odds to win. They’ve won just one of their last seven matches in all competitions, though. A draw shows +575 odds and would mean extra time. However, Bayern will want to have things wrapped up well before that.

Nurnberg vs VfB Stuttgart

Date, Time:

Second-tier side FC Nurnberg have had an unremarkable league campaign but advanced to the DFB Pokal quarterfinals. They’ve gotten reasonably lucky with the draw, as Stuttgart are the first Bundesliga side Nurnberg are coming up against. Stuttgart are staring at potential relegation, though, as they’re currently in last place in the Bundesliga. Their last win was in February and Stuttgart have scored just three goals in their last five matches. As the second-lowest scoring team in the 2. Bundesliga, though, Nurnberg are certainly the least popular team remaining for DFB Pokal betting. With both teams struggling to score, under 2.5 goals display -125 odds for the match.

Nurnberg are hosting on Wednesday but still show just +255 odds to advance to the semifinal. When these teams last met, in the second division in 2020, Stuttgart got a 6-0 road win over Nürnberg. Now, Stuttgart are -145 ATS and moneyline favorites to advance to their first DFB Pokal semifinal since for 10 years. However, they fell 3-0 to Union Berlin over the weekend as defender Borna Sosa missed out with an injury.

Stuttgart’s leading scorer this season, Sehrou Guirassy, scored the winning goal in the round of 16 and he could be key here. If Nurnberg can shut him and the Stuttgart offense down, they’ll certainly have a chance to cover the spread. Nurnberg +0.5 sits at +115 odds and the hosts also display +395 moneyline odds. A draw also displays +270 odds for Wednesday’s match. Perhaps the club that advances here can go on a run but the odds will be stacked against both of them.

RB Leipzig vs Borussia Dortmund

Date, Time:

Both RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund lost on Bundesliga Matchday 26. That means they should both be hungry to win Wednesday’s DFB Pokal matchup. Leipzig embarrassingly fell at home to Mainz, 3-0, and have now failed to score in three straight matches. There’s no shame in losing to Bayern Munich, and that’s exactly what happened to Dortmund on Saturday. They went 4-0 down within the first hour but did manage to claw two goals back. Defending DFB Pokal champions Leipzig are slight favorites, according to the DFB Pokal quarterfinals odds. However, their form has been highly concerning as of late.

The hosts are listed at -155 odds to cover as a pick’em, while Dortmund pk comes in at +125 odds. Leipzig’s scoring drought is undoubtedly linked to the continued absence of Christopher Nkunku. The French international has had an injury-filled season but has been electric when fully healthy. He, Xaver Schlager and Yussuf Poulsen could all miss this game for Leipzig. Meanwhile, Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck came off injured vs. Bayern Munich and the defender could miss this match. Injuries aside, these teams have split their Bundesliga meetings this season, as the home team has won both.

Home side Leipzig are +120 moneyline favorites, Dortmund sit at +195 odds to win and a draw displays +265 odds. Each of the last seven matches between these teams has also finished with three goals or more. For Wednesday’s DFB Pokal quarterfinal, over three goals show -125 odds. Although Nkunku is out for Leipzig, Timo Werner and Andre Silva are good options to break their scoring drought. Dortmund have quite a balanced scoring attack but Sebastien Haller is a big target man for them.
