Dortmund vs Stuttgart Odds, Bundesliga Preview
Top Four Clubs Clash

Dortmund Coming off Der Klassiker Victory
Last Saturday, Borussia Dortmund defeated Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena for the first time since 2017. It was a massive result for Dortmund’s Champions League hopes and they face another top four club in the Bundesliga on Saturday. Stuttgart head to the Signal Iduna Park after a wild 3-3 draw vs. Heidenheim and they enter the weekend in third place. Dortmund are four points behind Stuttgart in fourth and will look to close the gap on Saturday. Ahead of this Bundesliga clash between Champions League contenders, we’ll take a look at the Borussia Dortmund vs Stuttgart odds.
Dortmund vs Stuttgart Head-to-Head
Stuttgart are unbeaten in their last three games vs. Borussia Dortmund, in all competitions. The most recent meeting was in November, in the DFB-Pokal, and Stuttgart came away with a 2-0 victory to advance to the Quarter-Final. The prematch Dortmund vs Stuttgart odds listed Stuttgart as +135 favorites. Even though Stuttgart have back-to-back victories over Dortmund, BVB have won six of the last seven meetings on the Bundesliga schedule at the Signal Iduna Park.
Dortmund on Five Game Winning Streak
While Borussia Dortmund won’t end up beating out Bayer Leverkusen to the title this season, there’s still a lot to play for. For one, Dortmund take on Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League Quarter-Final next week. They’re also embroiled in a fight with RB Leipzig for fourth place in the Bundesliga. With the UCL format change, fifth may be enough for Dortmund to qualify next season but they won’t want to take any chances. BVB took a huge step last Saturday by defeating rivals Bayern Munich, 2-0.
It was a rare win at the Allianz Arena for Dortmund and a crucial one. Just ten minutes in, Julian Brandt set up Karim Adeyemi for the opening goal. Bayern only managed to put two shots on target in the match and Julian Ryerson doubled Dortmund’s lead late in the second half. Dortmund, fourth place in the Bundesliga standings, enter the weekend three points ahead of fifth-placed Leipzig and four points behind third-placed Stuttgart. Edin Terzic’s side have also won five games in a row overall heading into this match.
Adeyemi’s Dortmund career hasn’t exactly gone according to plan but he has scored in three of his last four games. Blessed with blistering pace, Terzic will be ecstatic if Adeyemi’s end product remains consistent. He’ll be especially needed over the next few weeks as fellow winger Donyell Malen is dealing with a hip injury. Meanwhile, midfielder Marcel Sabitzer is recovering from the flu and defender Ramy Bensebaini is out injured. Dortmund will still be feeling confident they can get their sixth straight win here.
Stuttgart’s Dynamic Duo Carrying Them
Stuttgart found themselves 2-0 up vs. newly promoted Heidenheim 53 minutes into last Sunday’s Bundesliga meeting. Serhou Guirassy scored his 23rd Bundesliga goal of the season and Angelo Stiller, who set up Guirassy, got on the scoresheet as well. However, things went south from there, as Stuttgart keeper Alexander Nubel mishandled a header off of a corner and inadvertently put the ball into his own net.
The floodgates opened for Heidenheim, as Tim Kleindienst scored two more headers to put the visitors up 3-2. Deniz Undav, who assisted on Stiller’s goal, rescued a point for Stuttgart deep into second half stoppage time with a tidy finish. With Bayern Munich’s loss to Dortmund, Stuttgart are now just three points outside of second place in the Bundesliga. It’ll be a tough finish to the season, as five of their remaining seven Bundesliga fixtures are against top half teams.
Guirassy and Undav have been the Bundesliga’s most dynamic duo this season. Together they’ve scored 38 of Stuttgart’s 63 league goals. It certainly appears like Stuttgart will be playing Champions League football next season, in no small part due to their forwards. Along the back line, Dan-Axel Zagadou and Anthony Roualt are out with injuries. Plus, Waldemar Anton is suspended for this match due to yellow card accumulation.
Dortmund vs Stuttgart Match Analysis & Odds
On their five game winning streak, Borussia Dortmund have conceded just two goals. Ian Maatsen has been excellent since joining Dortmund on loan from Chelsea and Mats Hummels is having a late-career revival. Stuttgart do pose a dangerous attacking threat, but Dortmund will gain confidence from shutting out Bayern Munich, the league’s highest scorers. Currently, the Dortmund vs Stuttgart odds list the hosts as +125 favorites for Saturday’s match.
Stuttgart have scored seven goals in their last three matches vs. Borussia Dortmund overall and they are on a ten game scoring streak. It’s no surprise that over 3, 3.5 goals are priced at -120 goals for this top four clash. Meanwhile, Stuttgart are +180 underdogs and a draw sits at +300.
Recently, Stuttgart have also been better on the road than at home. They’ve won their last four away from home but Dortmund will be looking to stop them in their tracks. Along with a sound defense, Dortmund have played well offensively on their winning streak. They’ve scored at least two goals in their last six games, in all competitions. After all, they did put five on Stuttgart at the Signal Iduna Park last season.
