2024 CFL Week 7 Odds: High Scoring Games Expected This Week
Lowest Total is at 49.5 Points For This Week's Games
The Canadian Football League returns with a slight change to its Thursday-Sunday format. Instead, we get a Friday double-header and all four games have a team with a losing record squaring off against a team with a winning record.
Canadian Football League Week 7 Games
By default, the best game of the week should be Winnipeg at Saskatchewan, where the Blue Bombers are slight road favorites. The 2024 CFL Week 7 odds don’t have a single favorite above 4.5 points, so there could be some close, high-scoring affairs this week. The lowest total is 49.5 points.
Elks vs Redblacks
Date & Time: Friday, July 19, 7:30 pm ET
Location: TD Place Stadium, Ottawa, ON
These two CFL teams will have a tough time matching the excitement of last week’s 37-34 Ottawa victory in Edmonton. The Redblacks won on a last-play field goal, as the teams combined for 752 passing yards, with 480 of those coming from Ottawa’s Dru Brown.
The Elks are still winless on the season despite being outscored by just 20 points through five games.
The Redblacks are playing slightly better than expected at 3-2 on the season. The CFL spreads show Ottawa favored by 2.5 points, making it the first time the Redblacks have been favored this season. It’s never easy to take a team in a completely new situation. The total is 53.
The point spread and the total are pretty solid on this game, but would give the slightest of leans to the over 53.
Blue Bombers vs Roughriders
Date & Time: Friday, July 19, 9:30 pm ET
Location: Mosaic Stadium, Regina, SK
The 2024 CFL Week 7 odds see Winnipeg favored by 2.5 points with a total of 49.5. Winnipeg has won its last two games after starting the season 2-3. Saskatchewan is 4-1 on the season but finds itself a home underdog to 2-4 Winnipeg in this game.
The Blue Bombers have shown glimpses of what was expected from them this season. Winnipeg still hasn’t put together a complete game, but as long as the wins are starting to come, the team can live with that. The Roughriders are 4-1 straight-up and ATS and have seen all five games go over the total so far this season.
If the Blue Bombers are starting to get the offense on track, they’ll score some points against Saskatchewan. The Roughriders are scoring plenty of points in their own right, so the over 49.5 looks to be the right side in this game.
Argonauts vs Tiger-Cats
Date & Time: Saturday, July 20, 7:00 pm ET
Location: Tim Hortons Field, Hamilton, ON
The Argonauts are favored by 4 points (-115) and the total is 53 points. The Tiger-Cats are having a rough start to the season, going 0-5 straight-up and 0-5 ATS this season. The offense averages 24.8 points per game, but the defense allows 33.8 points. Hamilton is 4-1 in totals this season.
The CFL scores show the Argonauts are averaging 30.8 points per game and allowing 28.2 points per game. Toronto did come up with a pretty big defense in last week’s upset on Montreal. Hamilton may be slightly better than the team has shown, but there’s certainly room for improvement.
Toronto looks like the right side here, but it’s not quite as easy as that. The Argonauts are coming off a big win against Montreal and have Winnipeg up next. Toronto still gets a lean, but nothing more than that.
Lions vs Stampeders
Date & Time: Sunday, July 21, 7:00 pm ET
Location: McMahon Stadium, Calgary, AB
The 2024 CFL Week 7 odds see British Columbia favored by 4.5 points with a total of 52.5. The Lions have run off five straight wins after their opening-week setback to Toronto. The CFL schedule has British Columbia off next week with a bye, so the team is likely looking forward to that.
Calgary is 2-3 on the season, but has won both home games and lost all three away contests. The Stampeders are 4-1 against the spread and have covered their last three games.
There isn’t a ton of betting value in this game, but it’s a little bit easier to back the Stampeders +4.5 to keep it close.
