CFL Week 19 Odds Preview: We’re Talking About Playoffs… For Some
As Playoffs Loom, Games Could Get Chaotic

CFL Odds Indicate Mainly Competitive Matchups
As the CFL playoffs quickly approach, we still have one playoff spot up for grabs. Of the four matchups this week, one is between teams vying for that last spot: Calgary and Saskatchewan. These teams have been on a skid as the CFL week 19 odds have their game lined closely with a 3.5-point spread in favor of Calgary. The same can be said with two of the other three games.
CFL Week 18 Review: High Scoring and Butt-Kicking
If Week 19 will be anything like last week, we are in for some blowouts. Three of the four matchups resulted in lopsided victories. It was fairly predictable as two of the winners were the betting favorites. But Hamilton destroying Saskatchewan 38-13 in its own yard was unforeseen as the Tiger-Cats were the underdogs.
Saskatchewan was the only favorite to lose on both the moneyline and spread. Winnipeg edged B.C. in overtime to make it 3-1 for favorites in both categories. And despite the high CFL scores, only two went over: Winnipeg-B.C. and Hamilton-Saskatchewan.
🏈 BC Lions (11-5) vs Tiger-Cats (8-8) 🏈
Day/Time:
Location: Tim Hortons Field, Hamilton, ON
Streaming: CFL+, CBS Sports Network
Since upsetting the Lions back in late August, the Tiger-Cats have been a cash cow. The team is 5-2 in its last seven games, all as underdogs. Their only losses have come against Toronto. Still, the “Tabbies” remain dogs, 3.5 points, in this rematch against the Lions. Hamilton is 4-1 in its last five games hosting B.C. And the Lions are just 2-5 against the spread in its last seven. Lions games have also been high-scoring with eight of the last nine going over the total.
🏈 Roughriders (6-10) vs Stampeders (4-11) 🏈
Day/Time:
Location: McMahon Stadium, Calgary AB
It’s tough to pitch this as the must-watch game on the CFL schedule this week. But desperation might just pull the best out of these teams. They are a combined 1-11 in their last 12 games. Calgary needs to hold serve as 3.5-point favorites to stay in the playoff race. Saskatchewan has major holes in its defense, allowing a CFL-high 31 points per game. Thus, the total of 48.5 points could get steamed to go over here.
🏈 Alouettes (9-7) vs Elks (4-12) 🏈
Day/Time:
Location: The Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium, Edmonton, AB
This may be do or die for the Edmonton Elks. These scrappy underdogs were a feel-good story for a brief period but have crashed back to Earth thanks to tough matchups. Now, the CFL Week 19 odds have them as slight underdogs at +1.5 on the spread. Montreal has been on a roll itself going 4-1 ATS in its last five games. Edmonton has also not covered in its last five games hosting the Alouettes.
🏈 Redblacks (4-12) vs Argonauts (13-2) 🏈
Day/Time:
Location: BMO Field, Toronto, ON
The CFL Week 19 odds are still off the board in this matchup, alluding to something kooky behind the scenes. But expect Toronto to open as moderate to large favorites against the embattled Redblacks. Toronto is atop the East’s CFL standings and is scoring 33 points a game this season. Ottawa, on the other hand, has allowed 27 or more points in its last five games. The total could trend as the highest.
