Blue Bombers vs Redblacks

Location: TD Place Stadium, Ottawa, Ontario
Day/Time: Thursday, June 13, 7:30 pm ET
Streaming: CFL+

The Blue Bombers are favored by 6.5 points on the road and the total is 46.5. Winnipeg’s offense was stymied last week by Montreal. The oddsmakers overreacted with a low total here. Ottawa’s defense isn’t in the same class as Montreal, so Winnipeg should be able to move the ball.

Ottawa’s offense isn’t great but is capable of scoring points. The team averaged 23.1 points per game last season and was 12-6 on the totals (Over/Under) thanks to its defense, which allowed 28.1 points.

Winnipeg needs a victory after losing last week. The Blue Bombers can’t afford to drop to 0-2 in the CFL standings, so expect a good effort here. The Over 46.5 points looks to be the best bet in this game.

Alouettes vs Elks

Location: Commonwealth Stadium, Edmonton, AB
Day/Time: Friday, June 14, 9:00 pm ET
Streaming: CFL+

Montreal is favored by 5 points in this 2024 CFL Week 2 contest. The total is 47.5. You have to worry about a slight letdown out of the Alouettes after they came out and took it to Winnipeg last week. Montreal forced three turnovers and held Winnipeg to 284 yards of total offense.

Edmonton had a fourth-quarter collapse against Saskatchewan, being outscored 21-3 in the final 15 minutes in a 29-21 loss. The Elks had their opportunities but couldn’t capitalize and lost.

After the job Montreal did on Winnipeg’s offense, it’s hard to take anything but the under 47.5 in this one.

Stampeders vs Lions

Location: BC Place, Vancouver, British Columbia
Day/Time: Saturday, June 15, 7:00 pm ET
Streaming: CBS Sports Network

Calgary pulled out the win against Hamilton last week in what was a decent game. British Columbia was upset by Toronto in a high-scoring game. The Lions return home and are now 8-point favorites over the Stampeders with a total of 50.5. The lines are just about right in this one and there’s no real betting value on the side or total.

The Stampeders should have some success against the British Columbia defense. The Lions are capable of giving up some big plays and Calgary was efficient last week.

The Lions should have a decent game offensively in this 2024 CFL Week 2 clash. Calgary allowed plenty of yards last week against Hamilton. The Stampeders kept the Tiger-Cats off the scoreboard when it mattered most in the 32-24 win. That shouldn’t be the case here, so take the Over 50.5 points.

Roughriders vs Tiger-Cats

Location: Tim Hortons Field, Hamilton, Ontario
Day/Time: Sunday, June 16, 7:00 pm ET
Streaming: CBS Sports Network

Hamilton quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell didn’t look bad last week. His receivers, unfortunately, dropped several catchable passes. The game was one of the most misleading CFL scores as Hamilton scored 24 points and gained 459 yards. The Tiger-Cats are favored by 1 and the total is 48.

If the Tiger-Cats can duplicate last week’s offensive success, they should be able to pick up a victory here. The Roughriders were a bit lucky to win last week. They were outgained 373 to 330. Saskatchewan did make a couple of defensive plays down the stretch when it mattered, but that isn’t something you can count on to happen regularly.

Hamilton was the better team last year and should be at least as good as Saskatchewan this season. Take the Tiger-Cats in this one to get their first victory of the season in front of the home fans.
