Champions League: PSG vs. Juventus Betting Odds, Preview
Disappointment Fresh on PSG’s Mind

PSG vs. Juventus Headlines Tuesday’s UCL Slate
Two European heavyweights meet on Tuesday as PSG host Juventus in their UEFA Champions League opener. Paris Saint-Germain will undoubtedly still have a bad taste in their mouths after last season’s disappointment.
They held a two-goal lead over Real Madrid in the round of 16 but conceded three times in just 17 minutes to lose in the second leg. PSG are among the favorites to win the competition, at +500 odds, but have never won a UCL trophy. Juventus are without any titles since 1996 but have a strong team as well. Let’s preview Tuesday’s match and cover all of the relevant PSG vs. Juventus betting odds.
UEFA Champions League – PSG vs. Juventus Game Info:
- Location: Parc des Princes, Paris, France
- Date & Time:
- TV: Paramount+, VIX+, TUDN, Univision
Head-to-Head
In eight previous head-to-head matchups, PSG has never beaten Juventus. In fact, they currently hold a six-match losing streak that dates back to 1989. It doesn’t mean too much though, as the last time these teams met was back in 1997, in the UEFA Super Cup. Juventus won 9-2 on aggregate. The past has very little bearing on the PSG vs. Juventus betting odds as the Parisians are favorites.
PSG Scoring at Will
- Last Match: 3-0 W at Nantes
- Injuries and Suspensions: M Vitinha (Day-to-Day)
Kylian Mbappe found the net twice in PSG’s 3-0 win over Nantes on Saturday. He’s had an electric start to the season, with seven goals. Neymar, who started on the bench to rest ahead of Tuesday, has been the star of the show, though. The mercurial Brazilian has seven goals and six assists to his name in just six matches. Lionel Messi has also started the 2022-23 season much better than in his first PSG campaign.
Paris Saint Germain betting has been incredibly popular this season as they’ve been dominant. Through six matches, they’ve scored a whopping 24 goals and conceded just three. Heading into Tuesday’s match, PSG’s over/under goals total is 2½. They’ve only failed to reach that threshold on one occasion so far this season.
Midfielder Vitinha is an injury concern heading into this match for the Parisians. Meanwhile, defender Sergio Ramos was held out of Saturday’s match as a precautionary measure. The experienced former Real Madrid center-back should be in the lineup on Tuesday.
The start to life under manager Christophe Galtier has been a good one, as PSG is still unbeaten this season. There’s been a lot of turnover from last season as PSG splashed the cash on some new Summer signings. Midfielders Renato Sanches, Fabian Ruiz, and Carlos Soler could make their PSG Champions League debuts on Tuesday. Meanwhile, PSG also added forward Hugo Ekitike and right back Nordi Mukiele to round out a deep roster.
Juventus: Difficult to Beat
- Last Match: 1-1 D at Fiorentina
- Injuries and Suspensions: M Adrien Rabiot (Day-to-Day), M Paul Pogba (Out), G Wojciech Szczesny (Out), F Federico Chiesa (Out)
Juventus rested player Dusan Vlahovic on Saturday vs. his former club Fiorentina in a 1-1 draw. The striker, who has four goals in as many matches this season, will be good to go on Saturday. With the likes of Federico Chiesa still recovering from an ACL injury, Vlahovic is Juve’s main threat. Juve has shaken up their front three this season, by bringing in Filip Kostic and Angel Di Maria, though.
Plus, former PSG midfielder Leandro Paredes could face his former club on Tuesday. Juventus are expected to get out of a group that also includes Benfica and Maccabi Haifa. However, this is about as difficult as a first match as it gets. The good news is the UEFA Champions League odds price visitors Juventus at -180 odds to score. Shutting down PSG is another story.
Still, Juventus have played very well defensively this season despite losing Matthijs de Ligt to Bayern Munich. Juve has conceded just two goals in five matches and remains unbeaten in Serie A this season. Winning games has been a challenge, as they’ve drawn three times, but there have been positives.
Vlahovic’s backup, Arkadiusz Milik, has already scored twice and could be a reliable option this season. The midfield is a big if, especially with Paul Pogba out, but this will be a good test for Juve on Tuesday.
Odds & Preview
The PSG vs. Juventus betting odds currently lists PSG as -245 favorites. With the form they’ve been in, it’s easy to see why. Trying to contain all three of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe could cause Juventus headaches. The center-back pairing of Danilo and Gleison Bremer is one that has performed well so far but this is a completely new challenge.
In two Serie A road matches so far, Juventus have drawn both. A draw is thought to be unlikely in this match, though. It currently shows +400 odds, corresponding to around a 20 percent implied probability. Punters who fancy Juventus can take them at appealing +575 odds.
The spread currently stands at 1½ goals, but it’s Juve who is implied to be more likely to cover. They’re priced at -130 odds to cover but retaining their road unbeaten streak could be a different story.
Goals are certainly expected in this match, as over 3 is listed at -125 odds. Interestingly, three or fewer goals have been scored in all five of Juve’s matches this season. Plus, over three hasn’t hit in any of Paris Saint-Germain’s last three games. With stars on both sides, this should be one of the best games of Champions League Matchday 1.
