Draymond Green Next Team Odds: Is It The Start of a New Era in Golden State?
Predicting Draymond Green Next Team Odds Market

Draymond Set to Leave Bay Area?
The Golden State Warriors‘ front office have plenty of decisions this upcoming offseason and a lot of it centers around Draymond Green’s future. Let’s take a look at the Draymond Green Next Team Odds market and see if we can predict the former Defensive Player of the Year’s next destination.
A return to Golden State remains the market favorite at +100 and despite declining his player option it remains the most realistic scenario all things considered.
The Warriors need their stars to take team friendly deals in order to return together and given Draymond’s unique skill set there’s no denying that the best place for him to excel and provide high value is in a system that has been built with him in mind.
What Green can provide off the court is valuable for any contending team, but his on-court limitations are hidden in Golden State’s system and teams will have to think long and hard about entertaining the idea of bringing in a player that is very limited in his offensive production.
Simply looking at the NBA betting lines when Green is absent for Golden State shows that his numerical value isn’t terrific, but what he does on the floor for the Warriors can’t be replicated by anyone else on their roster.
With all of that in mind, the Warriors being evens to retain Green makes the most sense and might still be the best value when analyzing the rest of the field.
The Other Title Contenders
Green will want to land somewhere that he can be positioned to win another championship, so let’s take a look at the teams on the Draymond Green Next Team Odds market sheet to see if there might be some hidden value.
The LA Lakers are +375 and second in the betting markets to acquire Green. A lot of this is placed on his relationship with LeBron James, but aside from any off-court intangible it’s not a move that makes a lot of sense.
Anthony Davis wants to be able to play at the four-spot and acquiring Green would mean AD would need to embrace playing as the teams starting Center every night.
Secondly, the spacing has always been an issue for LA and that would become magnified in a lineup that featured LeBron, Draymond and Anthony Davis. While the defensive upside is certainly a fair counter that doesn’t outweigh how it would halt their offense and that’s what will matter most for this team in the playoffs.
The Dallas Mavericks are +650 and could be tempted by Green’s strong interior defense given how poorly they performed at that end of the floor. The fact he doesn’t take away from Kyrie Irving or Luka Doncic will certainly sit well with players and staff alike, but the money Green will demand does leave them restricted on how they can build their roster outside of that acquisition.
The Phoenix Suns are another contender sitting at +800 but that’s an easy one to rule out given their cap space issues and current roster makeup. The Miami Heat (+1000), LA Clippers (+1200) and Milwaukee Bucks (+2200) are also easy to rule out given their want and need for spacing to go with their respective All-Star talents.
Draymond Green Next Team Odds Best Bet
The market prices certainly correlate with the implied probability of Green playing at the respective destination, however there is one that has some slight value and that’s the Golden State Warriors.
At +100 the implied probability suggests a 50% chance that Green returns to the Bay Area when the actual probability should be higher based on probable lack of outside interest and a commitment from the Warriors core to remain together.
The NBA schedule and results showed how Green’s absence impacts this Warriors team on both ends of the floor and if they want to continue down the path of running the system that has made them so successful then it is in the best interest of both parties to make a deal.
The Mavericks are the only team who have a strong case to make from a pure basketball perspective, but the price seems fair and the value therefore exists only on the Warriors at even or better.
