The 96th Academy Awards Pools Picks

Making Money at the Movies

The Oscars are just around the corner, and we have the 96th Academy Awards pools picks to help you clean up.

Oppenheimer is the overwhelming favorite in many categories, and there is potential for movie fans to clean up the pools.

However, some categories have many winning chances, and we have our expert picks for these awards.

Locking in with Oppenheimer

We will run through the categories where Oppenheimer and it’s cast and crew are all but locks to win.

Oscars betting odds have the epic drama at -5000 to win Best Picture, and we can’t see it being beaten.

No movie in recent history has garnered so much betting support, so it headlines our 96th Academy Awards pools picks.

Director Christopher Nolan is also a -5000 chance to win Best Director and Robert Downey Jr has been a huge market mover at -6000 to win Best Supporting Actor.

The Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor is always one of the highlights, and although Downey Jr has competition from Hollywood heavyweights Ryan Gosling, Robert De Niro, and Mark Ruffalo, we can’t see him being beaten.

In terms of winning pools, putting these three Oppenheimer in your selections is a must.

Momentum with Stone

The award for Best Actress is one of the toughest categories, but most of the momentum is with Hollywood darling Emma Stone.

She is beloved by the Academy, and Oscars betting odds have her at -150 to win. However, she’s not the favorite.

That title goes to Lily Gladstone for Killers of the Flower Moon. She’s the -200 favorite, and it’s an award that would go down well with the press. However, Stone is an incredible actress, and her role in Poor Things was brilliant.

Included in our 96th Academy Awards pools picks is Stone at -200.

Spiderman Spinning its Web

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was a hit, and it should win Best Animated Feature.

It’s not the typical movie that earns the award, but it was expertly crafted, and the -200 favorite should beat out the likes of The Boy and the Heron.

Beating a movie made by Ghibli Studios isn’t easy, and according to the latest entertainment news, it could be director Hayao Miyazaki’s last film.

However, Spiderman is a great movie, so include it in your pool picks.

Barbie and Best Costume Seems Fit

It would be a shame if Barbie didn’t win Best Costume Design, especially given how much detail went into it.

Barbie isn’t all about pink. There are many nuisances to the characters’ costume design, and the two go hand-in-hand.

It’s a close betting affair with Barbie at -125 and Poor Things at -115. Poor Things also had good costume design, but Barbie was light years ahead in our opinion.

It’s not the most exciting award, but when it comes to the 96th Academy Awards pool picks, they all matter.

Upset Brewing for Best Doco

The current favorite for Best Documentary is The ABC’s of Book Banning, but because of its controversial nature, we’re backing against it.

We can’t stand book banning, and the documentary provides an insight on this. However, not everyone shares the same opinion, and that could include the Academy.

As much as people don’t want to admit it, the Academy Awards are political, and awards are often not given on their merits.

Therefore, The Last Repair Shop is our pick to win at +145. It was a good documentary, and although not life changing, a good doco doesn’t have to be.

Securing a pools win with Best Documentary could project pools players into the top spot.

Make Up Spots with Maestro

One way to rise up the pools leaderboard is by including Maestro to win Best ‘Makeup and Hairstyling’.

The movie about Leonard Bernstein came under scrutiny for using a fake ‘Jewish’ nose for Bradley Cooper. However, this is a common occurrence in Hollywood when trying to recreate an exact image.

With the woke crowd kept in check, we expect Maestro to win the award. It was a visually appealing film, and much of that was because of the makeup and hairstyling.

Films of this nature often win the award, so this is a trendy pick.
