Arsenal vs Tottenham Head-to-Head

Arsenal and Tottenham split their North London Derby meetings last season. Tottenham destroyed Arsenal 3-0 last May in a match that cost Arsenal a top four finish. The Gunners beat Tottenham 3-1 at the Emirates last September.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

You’ll be hard pressed to find a match where the Arsenal vs Tottenham betting odds favor the away team. Arsenal’s last road EPL win vs Tottenham was in 2014. Meanwhile, Spurs haven’t won a Premier League match at the Emirates since 2010.

Arsenal off to Inspired Start

  • EPL Record: 6-1, 18 pts, 1st
  • EPL Form: W,L,W,W,W
  • Injuries and Suspensions: D Cedric Soares (Day-to-Day), D Oleksandr Zinchenko (Day-to-Day), M Thomas Partey (Day-to-Day), M Martin Odegaard (Day-to-Day), M Mohamed Elneny (Out)

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have responded incredibly well to missing out on the Champions League. They’ve won six of their first seven matches and are currently alone at the top of the Premier League table. Most of the same faces are back but it’s the new additions that have pushed them over the edge.

Gabriel Jesus has been a revelation up front, with four goals and three assists so far. While not technically a new addition, William Saliba has been one of the league’s best defenders in his first EPL season.

Arsenal always seem to get bitten by the injury bug and this season is no exception. Coming into the North London Derby, key midfielders Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard are both recovering from injuries. Odegaard is expected to play on Saturday but Partey’s status is more up in the air.

Oleksandr Zinchenko was one of Arsenal’s best players in the first few matches of the season. However, the former Manchester City star has already missed three EPL games. He’s nursing a calf injury and could be ready in time for Saturday.

The Gunners’ dynamic front three of Jesus, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are all fit and ready. Saka has been relatively quiet on the goals front but has already registered four assists.

That puts him behind just Kevin de Bruyne in the EPL player stats. In their last match before the international break, Arsenal comprehensively defeated Brentford 3-0. The Gunners have scored in every match they’ve played this season and are averaging nearly 2.5 goals per game.

Tottenham’s Unbeaten Start at Risk

      • EPL Record: 5-0-2, 17 pts, 3rd
      • EPL Form: W,W,D,W,W
      • Injuries and Suspensions: GK Hugo Lloris (Day-to-Day), D Ben Davies (Out), F Lucas Moura (Day-to-Day)

So far, so good in season two for Antonio Conte. Tottenham and Manchester City are currently the EPL’s only remaining unbeaten EPL teams. With five wins and two draws, Spurs are just a point behind leaders Arsenal. Harry Kane has already found the net six times and Son Heung-Min scored a 13-minute hat trick in Tottenham’s last match.

Just before the international break, Spurs thrashed Leicester City 6-2. Conte, with Kane, Son, Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison, has many offensive options at his disposal. Spurs have scored 18 goals in seven matches this season and only Manchester City have scored more times.

Like Arsenal, Spurs have scored in each and every EPL match they’ve played this season. They’re one of the most popular teams for EPL betting for good reason.

Captain Hugo Lloris missed international duty with France due to a thigh injury. Lloris looks like he’s on track to start in net for Tottenham on Saturday, though. If not, Fraser Forster is more than likely to deputize. Lucas Moura could also be back in time for Saturday and would add to Conte’s arsenal of offensive weapons.

Arsenal vs Tottenham Odds & Preview

The Arsenal vs Tottenham betting odds price hosts Arsenal as even money favorites heading into Saturday. Arsenal haven’t lost at the Emirates Stadium since last season and have won their last six home matches.

Tottenham come in as +270 underdogs and a draw shows the same price. None of the last five North London Derbies have finished in a draw, though.

This is a fixture that nearly always produces goals and some iconic moments. A scoreless draw hasn’t occurred since 2009 and the over/under goals total is set at three goals. The under is implied to be more likely, at -135 odds. Three or more goals have been scored in five of the last six North London Derbies.

Even when they played Manchester United at Old Trafford, Arsenal approached the match with an attacking mindset. The Gunners finally have the right personnel to do the same in every single match. With the backing of the home crowd, Expect Arsenal to take the game to Tottenham and put pressure on their fullbacks.

Arsenal’s back line is also much stronger than the version that lost 3-0 to Tottenham in May. Suffice to say that Rob Holding and Cedric won’t be starting again. A back four of Kieran Tierney, Gabriel, Saliba and Ben White is likely. But beware, containing Kane and Son is not an easy task.
