EPL Matchday 35 Odds, Preview
Newcastle vs Arsenal the Main Event

Manchester City Briefly Back on Top
Manchester City got a statement win last week vs Arsenal as they defeated the Gunners 4-1. With the subsequent victory over Fulham, Man City finally returned to the top of the Premier League table. Arsenal regained the lead midweek, by thrashing Chelsea 3-1.
However, Man City take on West Ham on Wednesday and have two games in hand. City are -1400 favorites to win the league at this point but Arsenal aren’t giving up yet. They have a difficult match at Newcastle on Sunday, while City host struggling Leeds. We’ll take a look at these matches and others as we preview the EPL Matchday 35 odds.
Games of the Week:
The fortunes of Manchester City and Leeds United couldn’t be much different right now. Leeds are in 17th place in the EPL teams standings and are reportedly set to sack manager Javi Gracia for Big Sam Allardyce. If Allardyce does in fact take over, he’ll be Leeds’ third manager of the season. Currently, Leeds are only outside of the relegation zone on goal difference. Meanwhile, Manchester City has dominated in recent weeks and has won eight straight matches in the Premier League.
They’ll look to continue their streak both on Wednesday vs West Ham and on Saturday vs Leeds. For the match against Leeds, City is a two-goal favorite. Erling Haaland is a big reason why. The Norwegian striker has already equaled the single-season record for Premier League goals, with 34. He’s got plenty more opportunities to break the record in his first season in English football. City are also -550 favorites to defeat a Leeds side in disarray.
Leeds does have their fair share of injury issues, to be fair. All of Stuart Dallas, Tyler Adams, and Luis Sinisterra could miss the rest of the season. Meanwhile, defender Liam Cooper is day-to-day ahead of this match. Leeds +2 comes in at +115 odds, while the visitors are +1200 underdogs here.
- Since earning promotion a few years ago, Leeds has won just one of their five matches vs Man City. A draw would be a highly disappointing result for City and it shows +700 odds. Meanwhile, over 3.5 goals display -120 odds.
Three Premier League teams have four losses this season: Manchester City, Arsenal, and Newcastle United. The latter two will face off on Sunday in a highly intriguing matchup. The last time Arsenal went up to Newcastle, the Magpies thoroughly embarrassed them.
Rarely have Arsenal looked as futile as they did in that 2-0 loss at St James’ Park last May. In the reverse fixture this season, Newcastle managed to hold the Gunners to a scoreless draw as well. The Magpies have won eight of their last nine EPL matches, which includes a recent 6-1 victory over Tottenham. Newcastle have also averaged 4.3 goals in their last three matches.
Following Tuesday’s 3-1 win over Chelsea, the EPL Matchday 35 odds still price Arsenal as underdogs. In this pick’em, Newcastle shows -125 odds to cover, and Arsenal pk comes in at +105. Newcastle, who have lost just one match at home this season, are also +135 moneyline favorites.
Arsenal’s backline took another hit on Tuesday as Gabriel left the pitch early with an injury. He’s questionable for Sunday and their other starting center back William Saliba has been out for almost two months. If Gabriel can’t suit up that means we could see a Rob Holding and Jakub Kiwior pairing for the first time to start a match.
Regardless, Arsenal enters this match as +175 underdogs and has won just one of their last five EPL matches. A second straight draw in this fixture displays +285 odds and only Brentford have drawn more times than Newcastle in the EPL. Arsenal’s defense needs to be careful with striker Callum Wilson, who has scored five goals in his last three matches. While Newcastle have piled on the goals lately, Arsenal have scored at least twice in nine of their last ten Premier League matches. Still, under three goals sit at -120 odds for Sunday’s clash.
Manchester United head to London on Sunday for a meeting with West Ham United. Third-placed Man United has won the last five Premier League matchups vs West Ham heading into this one. The Red Devils have also won four of their last five EPL matches. Meanwhile, West Ham are still threatened by the prospect of relegation.
The 15th-placed Hammers are four points outside of the drop zone but have lost their last two matches. They’ll also take on leaders Manchester City on Wednesday before hosting Man United. The Hammers certainly want to pick up points at home this weekend, with the UEFA Europa Conference League Semi-Final also coming up.
The Premier League odds list Manchester United as 0.5-goal favorites at +110 ATS and moneyline odds. The Red Devils also play midweek, on Thursday at Brighton. With just two days of rest, there could certainly be some tired legs. With both teams contesting midweek matches, bettors should stay on top of any injury updates. Regardless, center-backs Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez will certainly be out for Man U.
Even with their most reliable defenders out, Erik ten Hag’s side has kept shutouts in two of their last three matches. Although, over 2.5 goals come in at -140 odds here. Man U won the reverse fixture, 1-0, and three of the last four EPL meetings have finished with the same scoreline.
On an eight-game EPL scoring streak, West Ham shows -130 odds to cover the spread and either draw or win the match. The Hammers last defeated Manchester United at home in 2019 and are +230 underdogs here. Even though West Ham lost last weekend, they managed to score three goals and pose a threat to a weakened United backline. Neither team would be too upset with a draw in this match and one displays +280 odds.
Both Nottingham Forest and Southampton enter EPL Matchday 35 in the relegation zone. The forest is in 18th, level on points with Leicester City and Leeds United but in the relegation zone on goal difference. Meanwhile, Southampton is in last place with just 24 points. Both sides absolutely need a win on Monday and that should make for an entertaining match. Southampton hasn’t won since March but has come close on a few occasions. Meanwhile, Forest have just one win in their last 13 matches.
The EPL Matchday 35 odds price hosts Nottingham Forest as even-money ATS and moneyline favorites. Although they’ve struggled recently, they have managed to score in their last three matches. Southampton, who lost 3-1 to Newcastle last Sunday, have scored just 13 times in 17 road matches this season, though. Southampton +0.5 comes in at -120 odds here and they’ve managed at least a draw in four of their last eight road matches. The visitors are +270 moneyline underdogs, while a draw is priced at +255 odds.
Both teams are struggling with injury issues in the lead-up to Monday’s match. Southampton’s backline has been decimated this season, as all of Tino Livramento, Mohamed Salisu, and Romain Perraud have missed a bunch of time. Meanwhile, no fewer than 10 of Nottingham Forest’s players are injured.
Their injury woes are threatening to relegate them as Neco Williams and Scott McKenna are now out for the season. Key players Danilo and Brennan Johnson are day-to-day and prospective bettors should monitor their statuses. Although both teams are carrying defensive injuries, under 2.5 goals show -120 odds for this match.
