Single-Leg FA Cup Semifinals Set for This Weekend
The magic of the FA Cup has certainly produced some classic moments and this season has been no exception. Second-tier Sheffield United has gone on an excellent run to qualify for the Semifinal and hasn’t made the FA Cup final since 1936.
Brighton has also exceeded expectations and is in their third FA Cup Semifinal in team history. Sheffield United are massive underdogs in their match against Manchester City but have a chance to pull off a historic upset. Meanwhile, Brighton takes on Manchester United at home and has a decent shot to move on to the final. We’ll take a closer look at both matches as we preview the FA Cup Semifinal odds.

Manchester City advanced to the Champions League Semifinal on Wednesday by defeating Bayern Munich 4-1 on aggregate. Now, City takes on Sheffield United in Saturday’s FA Cup Semifinal. Erling Haaland has continued his incredible goalscoring run as he found the net in the 1-1 draw at Bayern.
Haaland had previously missed a penalty but later scored the goal that made it 4-0 on an aggregate and put the fixture out of reach. Meanwhile, Sheffield United is just one win away from sealing promotion back to the Premier League. The EFL Championship side is in second place, seven points ahead of third-place Luton Town.
Up to this point, Manchester City has already defeated Chelsea and Arsenal in the FA Cup. Meanwhile, Sheffield United pulled off a 1-0 upset vs Tottenham in the fifth round. Incredibly, Manchester City has outscored their opponents 14-0 in the FA Cup thus far.
The FA Cup teams stats show that Man City backup keeper Stefan Ortega has kept the cleanest sheets in the competition. The German shot-stopper hasn’t conceded in four matches. Man City most recently smashed Burnley 6-0 in the quarters, while Sheffield United’s Tommy Doyle scored a 90th-minute winner to down Blackburn, 3-2.
For this match, the FA Cup Semifinal odds price Manchester City at huge -1800 odds to qualify. The hosts also enter as 2.5-goal favorites at +105 odds to cover. The City is a -625 moneyline favorite as well and they’ve won 10 of their last 11 matches, in all competitions. Brighton is on pace for their best-ever season in the Premier League. Roberto de Zerbi’s Seagulls are in seventh place but could certainly climb the table with their games in hand. If they beat Manchester United in this FA Cup Semifinal, they’ll also reach the final for just the second time in club history.
However, Manchester United is second in the all-time FA Cup ranking, with 12 titles. United last won the FA Cup in 2016 but already won this year’s EFL Cup under Erik Ten Hag. United have a busy few days ahead of them. They take on Sevilla in the Europa League on Thursday before Sunday’s Semifinal.
