Premier League Week 19 Betting Preview

Seven-Point Gap Opens Up

Top Four Matchup Headlines Week 19

Arsenal and Newcastle have been the surprise teams of the Premier League this season and the pair will meet for their first matchup of the season on Tuesday. Mikel Arteta’s Gunners have opened up a seven-point gap over Manchester City at the top of the table. Meanwhile, third place Newcastle haven’t lost since August. Tuesday’s match should be an excellent one as well as games like Chelsea vs. Manchester City and Brentford vs. Liverpool. We’ll cover those matches and more in this Premier League Week 19 betting preview.

Games of the Week

Brentford vs. Liverpool

Date, Time & Streaming:

Only two players have scored more goals in the Premier League this season than Ivan Toney. Those EPL players are Erling Haaland and Harry Kane, which is great company to be in. Toney has 12 goals and his Brentford are unbeaten in their last five Premier League matches. They’ll take on a Liverpool side on a four-game winning streak of their own, later today.

One-goal favorites Liverpool sit at -115 odds to cover the spread and -190 odds to win the match; however, they haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last six Premier League matches. Brentford +1 shows -105 odds while Thomas Frank’s bees come in at +475 moneyline odds. They’re coming off an impressive 2-0 win away at West Ham in which they produced some stunning counterattacks. Liverpool’s last match finished in a 2-1 win over Leicester in which both of Liverpool’s goals were own goals scored by Wout Faes.

A draw is priced at +355 odds and these teams played to a thrilling 3-3 draw in London last season. Although that game was quite high scoring, under three goals shows a -115 price for this Premier League Week 19 match. Notably, Brentford have scored twice in each of their last four Premier League matches. For Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp will hope the struggling Darwin Nunez can find his shooting boots.

Arsenal vs. Newcastle

Date, Time & Streaming:

The most anticipated matchup on the Week 19 Premier League soccer schedule is Arsenal vs. Newcastle. The Gunners have the opportunity to win six consecutive EPL matches for the first time under Mikel Arteta. The odds price Arsenal as both -125 ATS and moneyline favorites for the match; however, Newcastle are unbeaten in their last 12 Premier League matches and have just one loss all season. The Magpies head into Tuesday’s match at +105 odds against their +½-spread. They’re also +310 underdogs and a draw sits at +275 odds.

Arsenal have been on fire lately and Martin Odegaard has been the star of the show for them. All of the front four scored in the recent 4-2 win vs. Brighton, as Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli found the scoresheet. Nketiah has scored in both of his starts since deputizing for the injured Gabriel Jesus. Newcastle played in a scoreless draw vs. Leeds on New Year’s Day and have kept shutouts in four of their last five matches.

Although Newcastle are in great form, Arsenal have won the last 10 EPL meetings at the Emirates Stadium. Last season’s fixtures both finished in 2-0 wins for the home side yet over 2½ goals sits at -135 odds here. Arsenal have also averaged three goals per game in their last five and Arsenal over 1½ goals comes in at -130 odds.

Chelsea vs. Manchester City

Date, Time & Streaming:

Chelsea have struggled for goals this season and have won just one of their last eight Premier League games. The Blues are currently in eighth place and their joint-leading scorers Kai Havertz and Raheem Sterling only have four goals apiece. They drew with Nottingham Forest 1-1 to kick off 2023 and face a tough test on Thursday. Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City head to Stamford Bridge following a 1-1 draw of their own vs. Everton.

Erling Haaland is a matchup nightmare for any defense and Graham Potter will certainly be worried about the Manchester City man. He’s managed to score 21 goals in just 15 Premier League matches for Manchester City and is on pace to become the first player to reach 40 EPL goals in a season. The Norwegian also scored City’s goal vs. Everton on New Year’s Eve.

The oddsmakers are not confident in Chelsea as the Blues are priced at just +400 odds to win. Meanwhile, Man City show -150 odds and a draw displays +300 odds. Man City -1 is listed at even odds and Chelsea are currently -130 favorites to cover. Each of their last four meetings in all competitions has finished with two or fewer goals. Yet, over 2½ goals comes in at -125 odds for this blockbuster matchup.

Other Important Matches

Manchester United vs. Bournemouth

Date, Time & Streaming:

With three straight wins, Manchester United are one of the hottest teams in the EPL right now. Marcus Rashford came off the bench to score the only goal in Man U’s latest win over Wolves. He’s been in excellent form lately and the goal marked his 100th career EPL goal involvement. The forward only missed out on the starting XI because he was late to a meeting. Expect him to start vs. Bournemouth on Tuesday.

EPL Matchups odds price Erik ten Hag’s United as -350 favorites to win. They’re also 1½-goal favorites and show -125 odds against the spread. Bournemouth are relegation candidates and have lost four of their last five matches. They also haven’t scored since the EPL restarted following the World Cup. They’re priced at +105 ATS and +850 moneyline odds and have just a 2-1-7 record vs. Manchester United all-time. A draw is priced at +475 odds and over three goals comes in at -115 odds for this one.

Leeds United vs. West Ham United

Date, Time & Streaming:

On first glance, a matchup between a 14th and 17th place team doesn’t exactly seem important. However, West Ham boss David Moyes is very much on the hot seat and could be coaching for his job here. Jesse Marsch has also been on the hot seat at various points during the season and his Leeds United could certainly use a win.

In this intriguing Premier League Week 19 fixture, West Ham are ever-so-slight favorites. The Hammers come in at +155 odds, while Leeds sit at +160 odds to win. Leeds attackers Patrick Bamford and Luis Sinisterra are still working their way back from injuries.

So, it makes sense why West Ham come in at -115 odds as a pick’em. Meanwhile, Leeds pk shows -105 odds. A draw displays +250 odds but West Ham have lost their last five matches. Over 2½ goals is priced at -125 odds but both teams were shutout in their last match.

Crystal Palace vs. Tottenham

Date, Time & Streaming:

London Derbies are always worth paying attention to. With Tottenham’s struggles, this is an even bigger game for Antonio Conte and Spurs. They’ve dropped down to fifth place and have won just two of their last seven EPL matches. Plus, Tottenham’s defense has been in shambles. They conceded twice to Aston Villa in a loss on New Year’s Day and have conceded at least twice in their last seven EPL matches.

“Crystal Palace +½ comes in at -135 odds and they’re unbeaten in their last three matches vs. Tottenham at Selhurst Park. Jordan Ayew and Eberechi Eze were on target as the Eagles defeated Bournemouth 2-0 on Matchday 18. Palace are +225 home underdogs and a draw sits at +240 odds.”

Tottenham, who will be missing Yves Bissouma and most likely Rodrigo Bentancur in midfield, are +115 ATS and moneyline favorites. Crystal Palace +½ comes in at -135 odds and they’re unbeaten in their last three matches vs. Tottenham at Selhurst Park. Jordan Ayew and Eberechi Eze were on target as the Eagles defeated Bournemouth 2-0 on Matchday 18. Palace are +225 home underdogs and a draw sits at +240 odds. The last three meetings have finished with three or more goals and both over and under 2½ show -110 odds.
