2023 IEM Katowice Betting Odds & Team Analysis
Duking it out for the $1’000’000 Prize Pool

The first major CS:GO tournament of the 2023 competitive season, IEM Katowice, has already started, with some of the best teams from around the world stepping forward to deliver their best and battle it out for the $1’000’000 prize pool.
The tournament has been split into three stages, Play-In, Group Stage, and Playoffs, with the first two taking place offline, while the latter will take place in front of a live audience at the iconic Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland.
A total of 24 participants will be competing in this tournament, a mix of qualified and invited teams. Sixteen will start with the Play-In Stage, while eight teams will directly begin from the Group Stage.
Participating Teams
IEM Katowice will feature top teams from Europe, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas. Most participating teams were determined by ESL’s world ranking, with only two coming from qualifying events (Fnatic through winning Elisa Masters Espoo and Permitta by topping ESL Mistrzostwa Polski Autumn).
The Polish event will be the first opportunity to see some new teams in action. Those are the cases of Cloud9, who recently added Timur ‘buster’ Tulepov to their roster, and IEM Rio Major winners Outsiders, who signed 18-year-old Aleksandr ‘KaiR0N-‘ Anashkin. In addition, FaZe is expected to once again field their entire roster after Håvard ‘rain’ Nygaard missed the BLAST Premier Spring Groups because of the birth of his child.
Sixteen of the 24 teams will compete in the Play-In Stage of the IEM Katowice before the actual play begins.

Teams to Watch at IEM Katowice
FaZe Clan is always a team esports bettors want to watch at every tournament. They are one of the, if not the best, teams in the world. However, there are three others that fans need to keep an eye on moving from the Group Stage and on. Those teams are OG, Team Liquid, and Cloud9.
OG (+2000)
OG was one of the first teams to qualify from the Play-In stages. They are a technically good team and have played together through various tournaments. They seemed to squeak by in the Play-In round of the IEM Katowice but qualified nonetheless. So betting on OG at +2000 is as safe of a bet as you can get. But be wary as they progress into the Playoffs.
Team Liquid (+1200)
Team Liquid has shown its quality time and time again. In the World Final last year, they beat all the top teams in a Cinderella run to the final. They lost to G2 but were still strong contenders. Their odds are too low for how good they are. Betting at +1200 is a steal.
Cloud9 (+700)
Cloud9 is considered one of the best teams in the world. However, they have been inconsistent leading up to the IEM Katowice tournament. As a result, they found themselves battling in the Play-In, where they dominated but still should have automatically qualified. They are a safe bet at +700, but they are a team that will keep esports bettors on their toes.
