2023 Valorant Champions Tour: A Preview of Week 1 Matches and Betting Odds

We’re in the middle of the first week of the 2023 Valorant Champions Tour, and all the leagues are kicking off! The Pacific League finished its first weekend, the EMEA is currently underway, and the Americas League starts on Saturday!
There is much to get into, so let’s dive right in!
Pacific League
As expected, every team that was favored to win their opening match of the 2023 Champions Tour Pacific League won their game. However, Team Secret was the only team to win; it was a nail-biter! The second week of the Pacific League is massive, so we might see the standings get shaken up.

Pacific League Week 2 Odds
The second week of the Pacific League kicks off on Saturday. Finally, the esports betting odds for each match are in! For Valorant fans, here are the Valorant Champions schedule and the odds for each of the week two games:
Zeta Division (-833) vs Rex Regum Qeon (+456)
This match should be a no-brainer. Zeta Division will be the apparent winner in the matchup. However, Rex Regum did not look good in their opening match, and it does not look good for them in the future. So we will only bet on this match if you want to be that person and bet on the underdog.
Talon Esports (-196) vs T1 (+142)
Talon finds themselves in another tough matchup as they take on Pacific League favorites, T1. In the opening game, Talon was upset by Team Secret, and T1 showed why they are the league favorites.
Team Secret (OTB) vs Paper Rex (OTB)
Paper Rex enters this match as the favorite after a comprehensive week one win. They are expected to do well in the league this year. However, Team Secret did get the surprise win over Talon Esports and will look to keep up their form.
Gen.G Esports (OTB) vs DetonatioN FocusMe (OTB)
In another one-sided matchup, Gen.G should get the easy win against DetonatioN. Gen.G has the potential to make it far in the Pacific League, and we can expect them to win most of the games. It might be best to avoid betting on this match.
DRX (-505) vs Global Esports (+255)
Global Esports nearly got the best of T1 in the opener and are projected to fight for a spot at the Tokyo Masters. However, DRX is a different beast on Valorant and will ultimately take the top place. Glabal could get the upset, but this match will be more fun to watch than to bet on.
EMEA League
The EMEA League officially started on the 27th and is the only 2023 Valorant Champions Tour league to play on the weekdays. However, the first week is also the league’s super week, so there are two more matches to play. Therefore, we will review the matches from the 29th through the 7th.
EMEA League Week 1 Odds
Fnatic and KOI have already kicked their 2023 Valorant Champions Tour campaign off to a fantastic start. However, they have to play again this week, can why keep their form going, or will someone else step up and make a run for the top spot?
NAVI (-357) vs Giants (+248)
After losing in their first week of one game against KOI, NAVI is out for revenge and hopes to get an easy win against Giants. However, in the past, Giants have defeated Goliaths, and bettors should note that they will want to start with a win.
BBL Esports (-120) vs Karmine Corp (-110)
The battle of the bottom. Both BBL and Karmine Corp have the lowest esports betting odds in the EMEA League. Both have yet to show enough quality to compete for the top spots. However, they will both look to kick off with a win, and Karmine Corp has shown to be a little better in the past.
Liquid (OTB) vs FUT (OTB)
Team Liquid is one of the most consistent teams in the EMEA. Despite NAVI and Fnatic having higher betting odds in the 2023 Valorant Champions Tour, they are one of the favorites. This makes a match against FUT an easy win and a bet you should avoid.
KOI (OTB) vs Team Vitality (OTB)
This could be the match of the week! KOI has already commandingly won their first match against NAVI and looked better than ever. Team Vitality is expected to compete for the top spots but could be rusty going into their first match. However, betting on KOI getting the upset over Vitality is a surefire bet!
Fnatic (OTB) vs BBL Esports (OTB)
As expected, Fnatic got off to a hot start in their 2023 Valorant Champions Tour campaign. They are the favorites to win the whole thing and should get the win over BBL. However, in reality, there is no contest; avoid betting on this match if you can.
Heratics (OTB) vs Karmine Corp (OTB)
Karmine Corp finds themselves in another bottom-of-the-table battle as they take on Heratics, who have even worse outright esports betting odds than them! It should be an exciting match, as Heratics will hope to bounce back after losing to FUT Esports. It could go either way, but going with Karmine Corp is safer.
Americas League
The 2023 Valorant Champions Tour Americas League will begin on April 1 with the regular season. The ten teams will face off in a single round stage, with every match featuring a best-of-three format. The ten teams will play games on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, except for the super week (Thursday through Tuesday) and the final week (Thursday through Saturday).
Americas League Week 1 Odds
The VCT Americas League kicks off this weekend, and compared to the other two leagues, this has the most exciting group of matches! Here are all the matches in week 1, along with their betting odds and picks.
100 Thieves (-137) vs Sentinels (+103)
100 Thieves are one of the favorites to compete for a spot in the Tokyo Master tournament. They are one of the only squads who have stayed together through the crazy roster moves. Sentinels are no pushover and can surprise a few if they can make a big run. There is not much of a payout for this match, but Valorant fans should watch this for future bets.
Furia Esports (-175) vs KRU Esports (+127)
Furia and KRU are expected to stay in the middle of the pack in the Americas League. However, KRU has spent the offseason strengthening its squad and will look to push for those higher spots. Furia has proven to be formidable and can take out the bigger teams. Taking a risk on KRU could be worth it in this match.
LOUD (-769) vs mibr (+425)
LOUD is THE favorite to top the Americas League and win the 2023 Valorant Champions Tour. This match is incredibly lopsided as the top team takes on the worst team in the league. LOUD should get the easy win, but esports bettors should match mibr for potential future bets.
Evil Geniuses (-217) vs Cloud9 (+155)
Evil Geniuses are the team to watch for the Americas League. They could be the dark horse team to make a good run toward the top. They take on Cloud9 in the opening game, which could be exciting. Cloud9 has taken down some top teams in the past and will hope to rain on EG’s parade. Cloud9 is the bet fans should go with for a payout.
Leviatan (+109) vs NRG (-147)
Leviathan vs NRG is the matchup of the weekend. Both teams have fantastic players, and their chemistry is off the charts. Both teams are expected to compete for the top spot alongside LOUD, but it may take a miracle to beat them out. This is a match esports bettors should avoid betting on. However, they should watch it to get an idea of who to watch going forward.
