Teams at Qualifiers Play Five Online Matches over Three Weeks
The first official matches for 2023 kicked off on the 13th with the opening matches for the CDL Stage 2 Major qualifiers. The CDL Major Qualifiers Betting will eventually lead to the Boston Major in February at the MGM Music Hall, with another set of vital CDL Points on the line for teams with goals of reaching Champs.
A lot has happened between the conclusion of the first Major and now. First, the reigning champions, the New York Subliners, discovered they would not be hosting their own Major later in the year. More to come on that later.
The LA Guerrillas subbed in an entirely new starting roster around Arcitys via academy players Assault, Exceed, and Joe Deceives. Additionally, former LAG starter Huke has joined OpTic, reuniting with Shotzzy and iLLeY, as the Green Wall moves on from AR legend Dashy and hopes the title-winning former Empire trio can gift Scump one final trophy.
Tournament Format and How to Watch
Each team at the qualifiers will play five online matches over three weeks, which will determine seeding for all 12 teams at Major Two, a step up from the four games over two weeks during qualifiers from Major One. The top eight from the qualifiers will have the advantage of starting in the upper bracket. All matches will be watchable on Twitch, with three esports matches broadcast on Friday and Sunday and four on Saturday.
Week One Results
Most of the results from Week 1 of the CDL Major Qualifiers Betting came out as expected. The teams with the better esports odds won their matches, however, there were two that were unexpected. The first was the esports opening match, where the Seattle Surge was shocked by Vegas Legion 2-3. After reaching the final in the previous Major, you would expect more from the young Seattle players.
The second match came on the last day, with LA Guerrillas taking down LA Thieves 3-1. It was a hard-fought and well-deserved win, even if no one expected. LA Guerrillas will be a team to watch going forward.

Key CDL Stage 2 Major Qualifier Matchups – Week 2
The opening week set the bar for every team. For most teams, the second match will help build momentum for the rest of the CDL Major Qualifiers Betting, however, for some, it will just dig an even deeper hole. Therefore, every esports bettor should watch these three critical matchups for week two.
Here are the matchups and esports betting tips for each one:
LA Thieves (-) vs. Toronto Ultra (-)
Toronto won both games in the first week of qualifiers and will attempt to keep their momentum. The Ultra looks like a strong contender going into the Stage 2 Major. Despite losing both matches, the Thieves are a team you never want to count out. It is almost guaranteed that they will use those opening losses as motivation.
Boston Breach (-) vs. Las Vegas Legion (+)
In their short time in the CDL, the Boston Breach has looked like a dark horse team. However, they are surprisingly good and give the best teams a run for their money. Their Stage 2 Major campaign has started 1-1 but can easily make a run in the end. Despite winning their opening game, the Las Vegas Legion can’t be expected to do much else. However, they may surprise us as they did the Surge.
New York Subliners (+) vs. Atlanta FaZe (-)
Another big game for Atlanta FaZe as they make their way back to the top. Previous Major champions, New York Subliners, look to stand in their way and continue their push for another title. This should make for an exciting match, as both teams have much on the line.
