CDL OpTic Texas Major Preview and Betting Odds

Who's the Favorite to Win it All?

This weekend, the third Major of the 2023 CDL season, the CDL OpTic Texas Major Betting Preview, will play out! It’s a perfect midpoint to the season so far. The CDL OpTic Texas Major Betting Preview will be held at the Esports Stadium in Arlington Texas. The Major 3 will be the last crowd-backed Major until the end of May.

Going into the CDL OpTic Texas Major, the Seattle Surge sit at the top of the stage’s standings, boasting a 4-1 record in qualifying. Following a relatively lackluster year, there are high expectations for the squad going into Major 3. Unfortunately, this tournament’s host, OpTic Texas, ended up sitting mid-table, having produced a 3-2 record in the Major 3 qualifiers and sitting in fifth place overall.

There are five Majors throughout this CDL season, and by the time the third is finished, more clear standing will be starting to develop. The teams who have thus far failed to make an impact will need to pull off a miracle to achieve their aim of reaching playoffs, and those at the top are ensuring they have as high a seeding as possible.

Can Seattle Surge continue their incredible run of form, or will the tournament favorites, Atlanta FaZe, come out on top? First, let’s see what the bookies say about their esports odds.

CDL OpTic Texas Major Key Matchups

There are two massive games to watch right off the bat that every esports and Call of Duty fan should watch. Those two matches are the Seattle Surge vs. LA Guerrillas and Atlanta FaZe vs. LA Thieves.

Seattle Surge (-450) vs. Los Angeles Guerrillas(+350)

Seattle Surge earned the first seed for Major 3. After starting 0-3 in online qualifiers, the LA Guerrillas managed to sneak into Winners after winning their remaining two matches. Amer “Pred” Zulbeari should have no issues leading his team to victory against a recently formed roster. Although they had a disappointing showing in Major 2, Surge is too good at Respawn to lose such a lopsided matchup.

Atlanta FaZe (-190) vs. LA Thieves (+150)

Atlanta FaZe bested the LA Thieves to become Major 2 Champions, but then LA Thieves beat them in qualifiers not even a week later. The two teams always deliver classic matches and always leave fans wanting more. FaZe will have to figure out their respawn tactics if they’re going to beat the LA Thieves. In their last two games against the reigning World Champions, FaZe has yet to win a single Hardpoint.
