ESL Pro League Berlin Major Preview

18 Teams Set to Rock it In Berlin

The second Dota 2 Major of 2023 is set to be played in Berlin, featuring 18 teams from across the globe. After Gaimin Gladiators secured victory at the Dota 2 Lima Major, they set the stage for the ESL Pro League Berlin Major. With the road to The International picking up pace, the qualifying teams will look to secure as many DPC points as possible from the second Major of the Season.

Valve is expected to release the 7.33 update in late April – which coincides with the timeline for the ESL Pro League Berlin Major. However, we don’t know what kind of impact it would have on the Major with the release of a colossal patch merely days before the tournament.

The participating teams will be vying for the largest share of the $500,000 prize pool and 2,700 DPC points allotted for the tournament.

Here are everything fans who bet on ESL Pro League need to know about the upcoming ESL Pro League: Berlin Major.

ESL Pro League Berlin Major Best Bets

Out of the 12 teams, half of them have some rough esports betting odds. After you get past the top six teams, there is a significant drop-off. However, there are three teams esports bettors should watch heading into the tournament. Those three teams are PSG.LGD, Talon Esports, and Evil Geniuses.

PSG.LGD

PSG.LGD is one of, if not the best, teams from China. They perform well at every DOTA2 tournament they qualify for and have consistently strong play. Despite not performing well in the Lima Major, they are still a fantastic team. They could be a dark horse throughout the ESL Pro League Berlin Major.

Talon Esports

One of these featured teams is different from the others. Talon has historically been one of the more middle to lower-of-the-pack teams. They have a decent squad but are prone to losing their heads. However, during the Lima Major, they kept calm and made it to the Lower Bracket finals. They were one round away from the final before Liquid came and won the match. Therefore, they could be an exciting team to watch during the ESL Pro League Berlin Major.

Evil Geniuses

Evil Geniuses is arguably one of the best teams in the entire tournament. Dominating through South America, EG has consistently performed at TIs and most Majors. However, after a disappointing Lima Major, getting knocked out in the lower bracket quarterfinals, EG will look to bounce back and reclaim glory. They can do it, but can they overcome that initial hurdle after the Lima Major?
