LCS Summer 2023 Odds & Preview

Battle for Supremacy on The Rift

After a mid-season break, LCS Summer 2023 is about to start, with ten teams vying for the NA crown and spots at Worlds.

With Golden Guardians and Cloud9 out of MSI 2023, North American League of Legends fans are starting to turn their attention toward the LCS Summer 2023, which is just two weeks away.

The Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles will host most of the summer split, finishing in the LCS Championship with the top three teams.

One of the most significant talking points about this LCS Summer Split is the addition of NRG, who replaced CLG in the league. After a seven-year absence, NRG is back in NA’s top League of Legends competition!

Here are all the details you need to know about LCS Summer 2023, including the competition’s start date, all the lineups, and the betting odds before the event starts.

Participating Teams at LCS Summer 2023

With only two weeks left until the start of the LCS Summer 2023, question marks still hang over a couple of teams. Evil Geniuses have yet to announce their roster after parting ways with every player except Joseph ‘Jojopyun’ Pyun as part of a significant overhaul.

100 Thieves’ fans will be curious to see how the team’s new mid-laner, Lim ‘Quid’ Hyeon-Seung, will perform with a new team.

FlyQuest announced one change to their roster from the Spring Split with the signing of former Evil Geniuses player Philippe ‘Vulcan’ Laflamme as their starting support.

The ten teams will face each other twice throughout the eight-week LCS Summer 2023 regular Esports season. Like in the Spring split, there will be two super weeks with three match days in rounds 4 and 8.

The top eight teams will qualify for the LCS Summer playoffs. First, the top two teams will be seeded into the second round of the upper bracket, while the teams ranked third through sixth will be placed in the first round. After that, the seventh and eighth-placed teams will have to battle through the lower bracket.

The LCS Championship will take place on August 19th-20th. The top three teams of the Summer split will qualify for the 2023 World Championship, while the fourth-placed side will have to play the Worlds Wildcard Qualifier.

Who to Watch at LCS Summer 2023

FlyQuest and Cloud9 are the best teams heading into the LCS Summer 2023; their esports odds reflect that. However, just because they have the best odds, that does not mean they are the two teams esports bettors should watch going through to the LoL finals. Instead, those two teams are the broken-up Evil Geniuses and the returning NRG.

NRG

After seven years out of the top flight, NRG is back competing at the highest level of League of Legends esports! Every team member, including the coach, is new to the organization and barely started on April 4th. However, despite essentially being a brand-new team, NRG is a storied organization and will look to return to the top. They could be a dark horse through the LCS Summer 2023 at +900.

Evil Geniuses

As we said above, Evil Geniuses’ squad has been completely gutted except for their veteran Midlaner, Jojopyun. EG has been very secretive about their roster structure before the tournament, but we expect them to announce it soon. Despite not having any players, EG is still one of the better teams heading into the LCS Summer 2023, and Jojopyun can lead them deep into the competition. At +1600, Evil Geniuses can be an absolute steal.
