Tournament Schedule and Format

The East will be determined after matches on Saturday, 6/3, and Sunday, 6/4. On Saturday, the Lower Bracket Final will feature OWL titan Dallas Fuel and newcomer, Dreamers. The winner will face Hangzhou Spark in the OWL 2023 Spring Stage Grand Final.

In the West, all the knockout matches start on Friday, 6/2, with the Grand Final being played on Sunday, 6/4. Two massive OWL giants, Toronto Defiant and San Francisco Shock, are beginning in the Lower Bracket, but everyone expects one to make it to the OWL 2023 Spring Stage Grand Final.

Throughout the OWL 2023 Spring Stage, every match will play to a best-of-five and a double-elimination format. As a result, only four teams, two from the East and two from the West, will join the other teams at the Mid-Season Madness later this month.

Teams to Watch

Every OWL 2023 Spring Stage team can fight for spots in the Grand Final. Every OWL and esports fan expects SF Shock, Hangzhou Spark, and Dallas Fuel to make it through to the Mid-Season Madness.

However, two teams can send shockwaves through the OWL and surprise everyone. Those two teams are New York Excelsior in the West and Dreamers in the East.

Dreamers

Dreamers are one of the newest teams competing in the 2023 OWL season. However, they are considered an amateur team and barely formed in March of this year!

Nevertheless, on their way to the Lower Bracket Final, they took out former OWL champions Seoul Dynasty and dominated the other Contender teams. For esports bettors, Dreamers at +1200 could be an absolute steal.

New York Excelsior

New York Excelsior is one of the most storied OWL teams, and their records show that. However, they have slightly fallen off as other teams around them have improved.

So, at the start of the 2023 season, they brought in a whole new team to start fresh and return to their former glory. Considering they have a completely new squad, they could be a dark horse in the West at +600.
