VCT Masters Tokyo Esports Schedule and Format

VCT Masters Tokyo will take place from June 11th through the 25th. This is less than a month after the conclusion of the three VCT international leagues.

This means the participating teams will either be fresh and ready or gassed. Either way, it will make for a fantastic tournament!

Twelve teams from EMEA, the Americas, the Pacific, and China will participate in the tournament, featuring a group stage leading into a double-elimination bracket. It’s a format that fans and players will welcome following the criticism of VCT LOCK//IN’s single-elimination format.

The top four seeded teams will go straight to the playoffs, skipping the group stage. The remaining eight teams will be split into two double-elimination groups.

  • Group Stage: June 11-14
  • Playoffs: June 16-25

Teams to Watch at VCT Masters Tokyo

Fnatic and LOUD are the clear favorites going into the VCT Masters Tokyo. This is because they are two of the most consistent teams in the competitive Valorant circuit.

However, just because they are the best does not mean they are the team’s esports bettors should watch going forward.

Those three teams are:

  • NAVI
  • Edward Gaming
  • Evil Geniuses.

NAVI

NAVI, one of the strongest contenders from EMEA, finished the regular season second with a 7-2 finish and a map score of 14-6.

They underwent a bit of a scare in the playoffs but quickly found their groove to bring things back on track and make it to the lower bracket semifinal.

Betting on NAVI at +1100 in the VCT Masters Tokyo could be a steal considering their level of play.

Evil Geniuses

Evil Geniuses, who have been criticized for being one of the weakest teams in the region, completely transformed itself!

After barely qualifying following a 4-5 finish in the regular season, everything changed in the playoffs as the team defeated Valorant heavyweights NRG and Cloud9, guaranteeing a top-three finish.

With their newfound form, EG at +5000 could give a massive payout!

EDward Gaming

One of the most surprising inclusions on this list, at a whopping +6600, EDward Gaming is the last team to watch. EDward Gaming was one of the invited teams and was also present at the VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo.

This team made a Cinderella run to the top two and will be present for this tournament. Of course, no one expects them to replicate that run in São Paulo, but they could sneak their way to the top.
