F1 British GP Odds: Can Red Bull Tie Record at F1 British GP?
Ten Wins Ten Races to Start 2023 for Red Bull! Can Verstappen Tie the Record With 11 Wins?

The 2023 Formula 1 season’s seen some of the most dominant performances by car and driver in recent memory. Red Bull and Max Verstappen have looked near unbeatable for most of the season. The team’s home race in Austria proved another good hunting ground as the combination won their fifth race in a row.
This week, the grid heads north to another one of the older tracks on the calendar: the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Six of the 10 teams are fully based in the United Kingdom with another (Haas) with a forward base there. It’s one of the most popular races every year and the high-speed characteristics of the track offers exciting racing. Here’s how the F1 British GP odds stack up for this weekend’s race.

Red Bull on Top as Usual, However, Different Drivers in Pursuit
For much of 2023, the shortest odds for victory in most races have gone to Verstappen, teammate Sergio Pérez, and Fernando Alonso.
Things look pretty similar at the top for this week’s race. Verstappen (-320) is the heavy favorite ahead of Pérez (+650) thanks to his form recently. He’s won the last five races on the trot, including four pole positions in a row. This is a historically dominant run for Red Bull.
Their ten wins in a row are the second-most in history behind McLaren’s 11 in 1988. Between Verstappen and Pérez, they’ll likely match that record. Silverstone has been one of the worst tracks for both drivers but with this car under them they’ll be hard to catch.
Lewis Hamilton is third in odds for victory at +1100. The British driver had an off week in Austria but has looked much improved over last season in the first part of 2023. Mercedes’ changes to the car seem to be paying off and the package looks better, especially on high-speed circuits on the F1 schedule like Silverstone. If either of the Red Bulls slip up, he’ll likely be right in the mix for a podium or win.
Charles Leclerc (+1400) and Alonso (+1600) round out the top five. Leclerc and Ferrari looked much better in Austria, taking a podium on merit. Ferrari won with Carlos Sainz last season but they may not have the same pace this season. It could be a close fight with Alonso and both Mercedes drivers to be close behind Red Bull.
Alonso and Aston Martin dropped off slightly in Austria to finish fifth but Silverstone will likely suit their car better. Aston Martin is based across the street from the Silverstone circuit and will want to put in a strong performance at their home race.
Picks for Podium and Points Finishes
Verstappen (-450) and Pérez (-175) are unsurprisingly the top favorites for the podium. Oddsmakers like Hamilton (even) to round out the podium ahead of Leclerc (+125) and Alonso (+135). Hamilton’s teammate George Russell (+300) has the next-best F1 odds ahead of defending winner Sainz (+330).
Even if something goes wrong strategy-wise, it’s hard to see Verstappen not at least making the podium. Pérez has struggled recently and could give an opportunity to the others to make it to the top three. Of the field, Hamilton and either Ferrari are solid options.
Sainz had better pace than Leclerc early on in Austria and fell back on pit stops. He won a great race last year and could use a podium boost to his spirits before the summer break. Silverstone’s one of Hamilton’s best tracks and though the Mercedes can’t match the Red Bulls for a win on merit, he’s got a good chance at a podium.
Oddsmakers have 11 drivers tapped for a Formula 1 points finish this weekend: Verstappen (-1000), Pérez (-700), Alonso (-700), Hamilton (-700), Leclerc (-600), Russell (-600),Sainz (-500), Lando Norris (-300), Lance Stroll (-250), and the Alpine teammates Esteban Ocon (-225) and Pierre Gasly (-200).
Of the remaining drivers, Alex Albon (+150) could surprise once again and make it to the top 10. The Williams hasn’t been an upper-midfield car but he’s often driving it like one. He finished 10th in the high-speed Bahrain circuit and seventh in Canada. Williams is one of the many teams to call the United Kingdom home. Grabbing a points finish will be a great way to show out at their home track.
Nico Hülkenberg (+250) had a good qualifying and sprint race in Austria but had to retire from Sunday’s race. Silverstone’s the best track in his F1 career. In 11 Formula 1 races, he’s finished outside the top 10 just twice. Though the F1 British GP odds assert he’ll be 14th, look for him to bounce back to a points finish.
British Grand Prix predictions
There’s little chance of rain in the current forecast for Sunday’s race. This means the British Grand Prix will be won without dynamic conditions.
The F1 British GP odds get it right: it’s hard to pick against Verstappen and Red Bull earning wins no. 6 and 11 in a row, respectively, and we won’t here. Look for Hamilton and Sainz to round out the podium, with the former giving the home fans something to cheer about.
For points surprises, look for Albon to steal a spot from one of the Alpines or Norris. Hülkenberg is a longer shot but he loves this track and could offer a better payout for a points surprise.
